Chatterbox: Down to Earth

SIBLINGSYou

SIBLINGS

You can really go nuts from your siblings. I have four younger ones, and they all drive me crazy. My youngest sister is really cute, though, but looks can be deceiving. She can be a big troublemaker. When she was a baby, she somehow managed to get out of her crib every single morning by herself, even though she couldn't even walk yet.

Oh my. A Curious Dragon is my sister. We get on each other's nerves. A LOT. Yep, I'm the younger sibling.

I have a ten year old sister and she DRIVES ME NUTS!!!

She's the complete opposite of me. I'm neat and tidy, and she's not. We share a room, so that makes it even worse. She never makes up her bed, and throws her toys and clothes everywhere.

I have an older sister *coughhackElliecoughhack* and she gets on my nerves sometimes. I'm 1 and about 3/4 yrs younger so yeah I'm the cute one besides my dog of course who's only 2. I know Maple has a younger sister named Ella who I think iss 6 yrs old but I'm not sure.

My little sister. The most annoying little freak ever to come on the face of earth.... And then there is Squeak. An  annoying little clean-freak boy who somehow seems to get everything right. And there is also my big sister, who is actually pretty nice... Sadly, she's going to college soon... Quite irritating, isn't it?

Three siblings, plus a dog and fish. Meh. I sometimes wanna just scream into a pillow and go play minecraft... Which is what I do.

Squeak is just so neat! He has a neat room, a neat bed, and even his posters hanging on the wall are neatly put. He always takes the time to excuse himself from the table, and always uses manners. At least he is slightly weird, or I would go crazy... Not like I already am, though.

Wow, this makes me feel incredibly lucky. I have a soon-to-be 12 year old brother whom I'm quite close with. Sure, we get on each others nerves, but most of the time we're on the same side. Okay, it wasn't always that we (we used to have the WORST fights- and I mean fights in the way that I remember us nearly breaking something), but now we've grown close. We often just talk about books (I got him hooked on Harry Potter- pretty much all he reads now) LEGO, and random stuff.

Let me go into further detail about my situation.

My little brother is so annoying and messy and has bad manners and is like TMI dude and he is soooo annoying like he won't leave me alone and is afraid of the dark and I always have to go anywhere with him and OMG I just cannot believe how afraid of the dark he is like it will be broad daylight and I'll go downstairs and he'll freak out and be like "OMG COME BACK UP I'M SCARED!" and I'm UGGGGHHHH and all my friends say 'ignore him' until they meet him; it is impossible to ignore him and that is probably the longest sentence I have ever written.

I understand the younger siblings being annoying sometimes but being the youngest myself I must say it isn't all fun. I have 2 older siblings. When you are the youngest nothing you do is a fresh first. The first time I walked, talked, read a book, my parents had seen it all before. Also it has kind of always bugged me to imagine there was a time when my oldest sibling was my parent's favorite because she was the only one. By the time I came around they had 3 kids to love so I have never been the sole favorite. A lot of things are hand-me-downs when you are the youngest. You also have very little power and when your parents are out the older sibling is always in charge  :(

I love my siblings though and my parents too and I can be the annoying little sister, but I wanted to share the other perspective since so many of you are older siblings (which probably isn't all fun either, I get that). What is being an older sibling like?

I'm in the middle with my twin brother Squeak, so I'm not sure. I have heard of this middle sister thing where like you have 'voices' in your head telling you to do bad stuff to your sibings.  o_o it's hard, because the older is the oldest, and very bossy, the littliest gets everything and all the attention. And the middle? Nothing of that sort. No attention, and everyone always makes fun of you.

I have six siblings. (And yes, you read that correctly. SIX.) They can drive me UP THE WALL sometimes (bring me siblings who don't ever feel this way- it's an impossible task), but surprisingly we get along pretty well overall. As I am the second oldest, I get to watch them be adorable. That old saying 'Kids say the darndest things' is right! For example, once when my Mother was sweeping the kitchen floor, my littlest sister pointed to a chocolate chip she'd swept up and shreiked anxiously: "No, that chocawhit chip is NOT dirty!"

I can most definitely sympathize with those of you who share a room. I share mine with my older sister, and she NEVER keeps tidy! She leaves her clothing in hideous heaps and her bedside shelf is in complete disarray. But still, I love her to pieces since I can always confide in her.

In All Sincerity,

Choca
