Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Has anyone had

Has anyone had an experience that sort of goes like this (this did happen last Sunday to my family)?

We are coming back from church (which is 80 miles away, BTW), and get a flat tire. So we stop on the side of the road for 20 minutes while Dad changes the flat with the spare.

I guess the spare was really really really old, because after 5 minutes of driving at 20 Mph, the spare shreds to pieces. So, my 2 sisters and mother walk to Braum's while my dad stays with the car and waits for a tow. We stay at Braum's for 2 hours and 30minutes, waiting for Dad to return. Finally, he does!

We got home around 8:00, when we usually come back around 4:30.

Has anything like this ever happen to you?

Somewhat. It was the end of Christmas break, and my family was coming home from visiting some relatives. With six hours left to go, our car suddenly slowed to a stop on this really big hill that we were going up. We had to call a tow truck, and they took us to the nearest town. We dropped our car off at a shop only to find out that no place was open to give us a rental car. We were stuck in this town, and we had school the next day. We called one of my relatives who said that they would take us home, but it would be a few hours. So, having nothing to do, we walked around town and watched a movie (Alvin and the Chipmunks, I believe), went bowling and ate at a pizzeria. Now, it was the dead of winter, and here, there are piles of snow everywhere, so it was super duper cold. We had to pull out our hats, mittens, snow pants and boots from our car. It was nearly midnight when my relative came to rescue us. By then, we weren't sure if we would make it to school on time. We got home with exactly enough time to change into our school clothes and go to school. It was quite an adventure!

Easily, that topped our adventure. The most exciting highlight of our wreck was that the tow came past with blinking lights. Butterfly and I played Trash for a while, then she looked at Pokemon cards while I read Lassie Come-Home (Amazing story!). It was quite dull.
