Braces. Does anyone

Braces. Does anyone
Braces. Does anyone else have them? I got mine about a year ago. I love picking the colors of my bands. My colors now are yellow and black, in honor of the spelling bee. I think next time I'll get teal, since most of my clothes are that color.
Oh, and does anyone else wear those rubber bands that connect their jaws? I HATE them!! The only good thing is that you can shoot them out of your mouth, which is pretty cool. My parents are finding them all over the house: on walls, in the fridge, on their bed, in the garage, etc. They're going nuts! Now I only wear them on one side, which feels really weird.

I got my braces off about six months ago- not necessarily a good or bad thing. But my expander? Was I ever glad to get rid of that thing!
Anyways, I'm glad you have a good attitude about them- a lot of people would sulk and complain.

Ohhh! I didn't see this comment! Yes, the expander was TERRIBLE! I had it in third grade. And sorry, I guess you could say I'm one of those sulkers. ;P

Yes, I have braces! I got them this summer. I don't really like them though. And plus, I don't even get colors! They're just plain ol' ugly metal. Anyyyways, I have to wear those weird bands too. I have to hook them in a triangle, from my canines on the top to the two teeth on the bottom. I'm supposed to wear them all the time, but I only wear them at night because I don't like them. Plus, they're an ugly color.
I forgot to wear them last night. Whoops.
Did anyone else have to get the expander? I had it in third grade and it was terrible. Then I got braces in fourth grade and now I have them again. :(

Madeline, if you don't wear those bands during the day, your teeth won't move. If you don't wear them AT ALL, then your teeth will move the wrong way.

Why? I just double them up at night.
(September 20, 2014 - 12:03 pm)
I don't know why. My orthodontist told me that. And I would stop doubling them at night. You're going to ruin your teeth.

Wait, how would I ruin my teeth?
(September 22, 2014 - 10:14 am)
They won't move properly. You want your teeth to straighten, right? PLEASE listen to your orthodontist and follow their directions!

Yeah, Nora's right. Your teeth won't move right. You really, really, really, really, really, really need to listen to your orthodontist.

I had an expander too. I feel your pain.

I had braces for 7 months in third grade, but I still have a metal expander on the bottom of my mouth. It drives me crazy! It always cuts up my tongue when it rubs against it, and I have to use specail floss to get underneath the expander.

Ohh, you have an expander on the bottom? I didn't even know they did that.

Tips:
-DO NOT WEAR GREEN, BROWN, OR WHITE BRACES. Green looks like you have spinach in your teeth, brown looks like you have brown teeth, and white makes your teeth look discolored.
-Blue, purple, and silver are the best colors. Mine are electric blue, which is a perfect braces color - it makes your teeth look whiter! Plus, blue goes with everything. Why do you think jeans are blue?
-If you wear makeup, a berry red-pink color of lipstick or lip gloss looks really good with blue braces.
Good luck! =)

I had braces in 5th grade, (not full ones, just on the four front teeth)and headgear before that. Now I have to wear a little clear retainer. I think my teeth are fine! This retainer has been here for too long. I am not supposed to wear it at night, but rules are made for breaking. (some of them...) I 'forgot' to wear it for about a month now. My teeth are fine. *annoying girl eye roll snort* Oh well.

You had to wear a headgear? I bet that was bad. My teeth were so horrible that my orthodontist was thinking about putting me in headgear. My teeth were--literally--layered on top of each other. I had to have six teeth extracted (at least I got ice cream after that).
