Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Collecting

Collecting

I love collecting! It's a great way to show off cool stuff to your friends and family, especially with a whole variety. What kinds of treasures do you collect?

When I was younger, I collected seashells from the beach, notebooks, and soap bars. I still have those seashells and notebooks, but I have no idea why I collected soap bars. I guess it's because they smelled really good. At hotels, I would ask the cleaning lady for a few bars of soap and I would take them home and place them on a little white cart where I used to put all of my collectibles.

Now, I collect pottery that I paint, stationery, seashells (when I can find them), snowglobes, and charms for my charm bracelet!

I love collecting! Everything I collect are special little treasures.

I collect:

Books

Dolls (American Girl dolls, other 18" dolls from doll stores, Madame Alexander dolls, the very rare very ocassional Barbie doll, figurine dolls of characters (like Merida, Anna and Elsa,), Precious Moments dolls, the list goes on.)

Notebooks (You can never have too many notebooks, ay Nina?)

Hats (I am a hat girl. I own and wear probably ten or more.)

Jewelry pieces for me to make my own jewelry

and a random assortment of many other things.

I'm not that much of a collector, but I do collect souvenir pennies. I have a penny-collecting book where I keep all of them. I also collect old pennies. I only have three. They're all from 1940, so I guess it's not that old, but it's worth hanging on to!
