Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Hi, everyone! I'm

Hi, everyone! I'm new to the CB. I'm an avid reader and writer. My favorite genre is historical fiction -- my favorite books include The Book Thief, the Anne of Green Gables books, and the Betsy-Tacy books. Anybody who has not heard of the Betsy-Tacy books should check them out. They're about three girls growing up during the early 1900's, and they're beautifully written.

I love journaling, and I'm currently in the midst of writing several short stories. I also enjoy being outdoors -- especially swimming, hiking, photographing wildlife/scenery, and spending time on the ocean.

I have a strange obsession with exploring independent bookstores, and unfortunately, I don't happen to live very near to one. Does anybody have a local or "adopted" independent bookstore? My "adopted" independents are The Other Tiger in Westerly, RI, Bank Sqaure Books in Mystic, CT, and Riverread in Binghamton, NY.

Hi, Booklover! I'm a "booklover" too, and so is everyone else here, so you'll fit right in. There are a lot of writers here as well, so I'm sure you'll appreciate the wonderful, supportive community we have.

There's a small used bookstore near where we live that we sometimes go to. We live in California, though, so there's probably little chance that you'd ever get to see it.

Who's "we", you're probably wondering? Ah, prepare for the confusing part! *dun dun dun dunna* *blows trumpets* "We" would be referring to myself and my "host body", Ruby. Ruby comes here a lot as well, but he's a little less social than me. That still makes absolutely no sense, you say. You're right, it doesn't, I say. Ruby has schizophrenia and has some pretty vivid hallucinations, one of which being myself. I'm kind of a "voice" born from Ruby, but I have my own personality, talents, thoughts, likes and dislikes, so I like to be treated as my own person. I'm not a human, and most people can't see me, but I love making friends with you guys, and we'll get along fine as long as you treat me like everyone else, okay? Cool.

I wrote a long introduction thingy on Ellie's new page. I really hate redirecting people, but it took a long time to write, so if you want to see a list of games and cool stuff right now, that's the place to go.

I can't wait to get to know you better! See you around!

Hi, Red! Thanks for welcoming me. It's cool that you live near an independent bookstore. I enjoy browsing the used ones; it's exciting to come across an old or out-of-print book which you might not find anywhere else.

I'll see you around the CB.

Hiya Booklover28! I am Blonde Heroines Rule, a very hyper, Christian, fanatical, opinionated, anti-mainstream, blunt, tactless, insane fangirl. Welcome to the CB!

I love love love love love love love love love LOVE Anne of Green Gables!!!! I think I've heard of Bets-Tacy books, though I have yet to read them. You'll discover about me that I've read a million and one books, but have yet to read even more. I also a huge fangirl of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, the classics, Keeper of the Lost Cities, Kingdom Keepers, Harry Potter, Top Gear, Merlin, and far too many others to name.

I love independent book stores! You find more older books, or orginal copies, than you do at name brand stores. I don't get to go to them often, but I could spend hours roving over their packed shelves. Plus, they often have charming decour and feel very homey!

Hi, Blonde Heroines Rule! It's cool to find another Anne of Green Gables fan. I'd definitely reccomend that you read the Betsy-Tacy books, especially since you enjoy the Anne of Green Gables books.

It's awesome that you love independent bookstores, too. I agree that they feel homey! It's very easy to spend hours in one without even realizing it.
