Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Okay, I've decided

Okay, I've decided to tell you guys something: I'm Muslim. Now, I hope this doesn't change anyone's image about me. Lots of people think that Muslims are violent because of 9/11. But the truth is, I'm against what those Mulims did. They killed innocent people. Actually, what they did is against our religion. So not all Muslims are bad.

I'd like to talk a bit about Ramadan, which is right now. It's a holy month for us, because that's when the Koran was revealed. We fast from sunup to sundown, so we can feel how poor people feel, and appreciate food and water. When we break our fast, we eat a date and say a special prayer. After Ramadan is over, we have a big celebration called Eid.

If anyone has any questions about Islam or Muslims, I'd be happy to answer. Lots of people get the rong image of Muslims.

I mentioned Eid in my post, the big Muslim celebration. I can't wait! I'ts only less than a month away! We wake up really early and go to the city's Convention Center in downtown. The Muslims rent it for a day so we can do our Eid prayer there. After the prayer, our famly goes home and exchanges presents. Then we all go somewhere, like an amusement park, a restaraunt, etc. Eid lasts three days, so the second day, the Muslims have this huge party. They have those inflatable slides and..what are those thing called? The houses where you bounce around in them? There's a TON of pizza and soda (I don't drink the soda). The third day, there's usually another smaller party hosted by one of our friends. We hosted the party once. It was awesome!

Sorry if I blabbed a bit too long. I kind of talk too much.

I think it's called a bounce house.
