HELP!

Someone I DON"T KNOW e-mailed me saying to forward that message to five different people of I will die within two days! My religion doesn't believe in superstitions; we believe they're a serious sin. What should I do? Admin, you can give advice as well.

Ignore the part about forwarding it and dying. I've had people I know send those to me. I never forward it and I'm still here. Are you sure that you don't know the person? If you don't, then I would just ignore that unless they email you again. They probably meant to send it to someone they know who has a similar email to yours.

Thanks, Ivy. No, I do not know that person. I guess they just sent it to me as a mistake. Now I will be able to enjoy my dinner in peace, without worrying about dying in two days! ;P

I'm glad I could help! When I first got my phone I kept getting texts and phone calls from people I didn't know. It was the friends of the person whose number it used to be. I guess they didn't know she had changed it. And like Everinne said, if for some reason they keep emailing you, you might want change your email. Most likely it was just a mistake.

This is one of the times when I'm glad I don't have e-mail.

Ooh.. I'm sorry. My friend got one of those once. They're called chain email, I think? Anyways, she never forwarded it and she's still alive, so don't worry. Like Ivy said, ignore the thing, and don't worry.

Don't listen to those things. They're just meant to freak you out. But here one thing: if you're signed up (via email) to receive updates from blogs and diverse websites, that might be how someone found out your address. If they keep cropping up and you're certain that someone you don't know is sending them, change your email adress. Better be safe than annoyed.

May I just say, Mag Fan, that you seem to have horrible luck with nasty people on the Internet?

Oh I've gotten things like that. Don't listen to it. People have sick and warped ideas of fun, and this is one of them. You WON'T die, or be cursed, or have a close friend or relative, or whatever stupid garbage they tell you. I've seen and been sent things like that, and they're entirely pointless.

Ignore it and move on with your day.  There is no way they could actually kill you, but it can still be scary at first!

Yes, Everinne, I have. *sigh* Oh, well. Thanks for the advice, everyone. I feel much better now.

Mag Fan, it's no big deal. I get chain mails from people sometimes saying I'll die, but they're not sincere. It doesn't mean anything bad at all so don't worry. I got a text from some random person by accident from a guy at an Indian Festival. They might have been mistaken in sending you an e-mail too.

You guys were right! It has been over two days since I received the e-mail and I'M STILL ALIVE!!!!! :D  If I ever get one of those again, I'll know they're just meant to freak the receiver out. And with me, it worked. =S
