Lent

Today's Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent. Does anyone else celebrate Lent? If so, did you get ashes today? I'm going to church later. What will you do for Lent this year?

We (The Chocabookaholic, our family and I) celebrate lent! We are going to church for ashes later today. We canceled netflix (partially lent, partially just sick of too much tv), are going to read all four gospels over lent, and we gave up sweets. We do consider Sunday a feast day and we eat desert on Sundays, so we're not going the whole forty days with no sugar :). Our dad says we should not just give up something to thank God, but also add something (spiritual book, devotions, bible reading) to help you grow closer to him.

No, I don't celebrate Lent, but I did say Happy Mardi Gras at least once yesterday.

I celebrate Lent! Yesterday was Ash Wednesday and we had a school mass for ashes on our foreheads. I gave up chocolate for Lent. Even though I am not 14 I will still try to abstain from meat on all Fridays during Lent, since it is a good preparation!

Even though I'm Christian (I think? Sorry, not so religious) I don't really celebrate Lent. I mean, I do believe in some things in Christianity but... yeah.
