Make sure you wash your face at least once everyday.  I use this stuff called Epiduo when I'm really broken out, and it really helps.

I don't have acne that much anymore, however in fifth grade it was really bad. I wash my face every morning and night with Proactiv solution. It really works, but if you stop using it, acne will soon occur. I recommend Proactiv!

I normally wash my face twice a day with oil-free acne wash, especially if I wore makeup that day because if you don't clean makeup off it WILL clog your pores and create acne.  If you get a really bad zit, put some cream on it.  I use a benzoyl peroxide cream.  I don't rub it in, but I put I on the zit.  It hardens and I wear it overnight, then wash it off in the morning.  That really seems to work for me, but everyone's face is different.

If you're a girl, do not wear a lot of makeup. Girls often try to cover up with lots of powder and concealer but that only really makes it worse.

Don't put a lot of different products - creams, soaps etc. - on your face. It might seem like it should help but it could be doing just the opposite.

Use a face wash that is specially for sensitive skin and made from organic products.

1. Wash your face every morning and night with ONE type of sensitive skin face wash.

2. If you wear makeup, wash it off as soon as possible. I wear makeup to school, but as soon as I get home I take it all off.

3. Don't itch, pop, or rub at acne. It'll just leave scars. It WILL go away. Don't try to make that happen unnaturally.

4. There are acne medicines that can be prescribed by your doctor.

5. Don't touch your face, as this allows germs to seep into your pores and cause more acne. If you must touch your face for some reason, wash your hands with soap and water first.

Hope this helps! I don't get acne (at least, not YET), but it pretty much will happen to everyone. I still do these steps, though, to prevent it.

And if you hear all those myths about how eating pizza and chocolate will give you acne, it isn't true! Unless you literally put it ON YOUR FACE, eating it doesn't have anything to do with your skin.

Good luck!

HI! This is my first time posting here but my little sis (The Chocabookaholic) is obsessed, so I thought I would click around. I am quite concerned about this issue as my teen skin isn't in the best shape :)

I have to disagree about eating not having anything to do with your skin. Lots of people who have reformed their diets and started eating healthier foods (veggies, fruits, humanely raised and well-fed meat and dairy, good fats, good carbs) have not only lost weight but have experienced good changes in their complexion too. Although carbs and grease can cause acne to some extent, chocolate and pizza are no worse than say, a frappe and fries.

I've tried the oil cleansing method once before, and, although it takes a while, it left my face feeling great (despite the fact that it seems nuts to put oil on your face :D). Hope this helps!

I put some links in my post to articles about natural skin care and eating for your skin, but they were edited out. If you want to google search (at your own risk of course), there are some good articles out there. It makes sense that they edit them out, considering that if people started doing that a lot, the admins would be spending thier lives watching youtube videos and reading articles :D Thx admins for all you do!!!

You're welcome. Thank you for understanding that we don't have time to check everything.

Maybe eating the foods you mentioned help your skin, but it doesn't have to do with acne. Eating fruits and veggies help your skin to be clearer because they're filled with water. Water helps your skin. I was just saying that eating certain foods doesn't literally cause acne, like some people say.

I totally agree about not wearing too much makeup. I barely ever wear makup, and when I do use any my breakouts just get worse. I really hardly ever do anything with my skin, makeup or products, and my skin hasn't really gotten much better, but it hasn't gotten worse!

Tea tree oil helps when you have acne, although it smells really awful at first!

Ugh , I hate acne .#TeenProbs

I don't have it really bad , but when my face breaks out it gets bad . I also get it on my back pretty bad too ( yeah , it's gross buut whatever ) .  I just wash my face with face wash , and when my acne was reaally really bad during the summer , I used Clindomiacin ( i really have no idea how to spell that ) on my face & back and it worked really well ! It's by prescription , so if you only get occasional pimples or zits , I don't reccomend it .

Clearasel works really well too . But , if you have sensitive skin & just a pimple or two MAKE SURE you ONLY get it on the PIMPLE . Your face WILL become either blotchy or there will be a rash .
