I have a serious fascination with aviation and flying. I LOVE the early-day pilots, pioneer women pilots, the WASPS, the Barnstormers, etc. I've even considered one day getting a pilot's license! Though this isn't likely cause a) it just doesn't seem possible for me, and b) my mom isn't a fan of me becoming a pilot.

But, as to the point of this, I was curious for any information anyone had on pilots or planes. Especially pilots of the early 20th century. Plus, for the new story contest Cricket put out, I was thinking of writing about either a pioneer women's pilot (ie Harriet Quimby, Amelia Earhart, etc), a member of the WASPs, or a Barnstormer. If ya'll have any information or book recomendations, I WOULD BE SO GRATEFUL!!!!

 

BHR, the May 1995 Cricket had stories about early aviators, including the WASPs. Maybe you can find one at a library.

I LOVE FLIGHT!!!!!!! For my science project this year I did one involving balsa wood airplanes and airfoils. I also had a desire to be into the Air Force, until I decided that I wanted to act, and then realized that I could probaly do a stint in the Air Force AND act. Yippee!! :D

There's a program at the Career Center here that's for getting a pilot's license. Happiness!!!

I spelled career wrong up there. Admins, could you fix it?

@ Sir Doctor: Seriously?! That is soo cool! I don't know if there's any program like that here, so I'll look around.

@ Admins: COOL!!!! I'm totally going to go on a mad hunt now to find that issue!!!!!

If you search "The Good Stuff Airplanes Playlist" on Youtube there are six really cool videos about aviation and plane related things.
