I have a piano recital coming up this weekend, and I am positively freaking out. I've never done anything like this before, and I really can't stop inwardly panicking. I'm performing a duet of Greensleves with my teacher, though thankfully, it's a fairly easy piece. Now I know there is no way to get over nerves or anything, I just needed a place to sort of pent off my fear. And it has helped some.

A duet should be easier than a solo. You'll have your teacher with you. Just play like you do at your lessons. And I will share a tip a violinist told me once: Eat a banana an hour or two before you perform. The potassium in the banana will help calm you.

*gasps in relief* It's over! I did it! Thanks for ya'll's support!

It actually went really well. I managed to not look like an idiot getting on and off the stage, and no one noticed the mistake I made. I even got compliments after the show! It was fun, though I was shaking really badly. I must admit though, I likely won't do much public performing. It's horribly nerve wracking. But my teacher was proud, so I guess I did all right.

Congratulations, BHR. And next time it will be easier.

Congrats, BHR!

I remember when I gave a speech. I was shaking a little when I gave it, and a lot for about ten minutes after it was over. But it was really worth it!

Thanks Admin! And thanks, True! That's exactly how I felt. But I managed to not look at the crowd at all, so that also made it easier.

Not looking at the crowd helps a lot. I'm an alto, but I was slavery in "Charlotte's Web: The Musical" and I had a really high note that couldn't be changed. I didn't look at the crowd, and  I was fine. Go BHR!

I had a piano recital last month (it was my first one) and I was really nervous but excited at the same time. Mine was a duet, too. Even though I would be up on the stage with the teacher, it was still nerve-racking to be up there! But congratulations on your piano recital! Was it your first one?

Yeah, it was! That's how it was for me. It was fun, and thankfully, there wasn't a lot of judgement since all the other kids were younger than me!
