If we do

If we do this thing when we all get on at the same time, we have to work out a lot of things ahead of time. First
of all, the time needs to work for the Admin. Plus, we can only do it
if they are willing to be glued to their computer screens, posting
threads and comments as fast as they can, which I am not sure I would
be willing to do. Second, we need to figure out an ending time so it
doesn't go on forever. Would a half-hour be too short? too long? We
need to know what section we're going to be on, too. Like, one of us
might start out on Down to Earth, but it would have begun on Chirp at
Cricket. We should probably stick to one spot, and I vote for Down to
Earth. (We can always have another one on another spot.) Lastly, what
if we can't find anything to talk about for that long?

I do love the idea, though. We just need to iron out these details,
and make sure that no one is left out. Please write back with your
ideas!

back to the Down to Earth

I think we should definetly use Down to Earth. I also think we should choose someone to start a post for the things we are going to post at that time.

Yeah, that's a good idea. And we can pick someone to start the thread so we don't all make threads and no one knows which one to go on.

Okay, you know what we should do? Everyone who wants to contribute to this 'going on at the same time' thing, write in with what time is best for you. I'll start. My best time is 6:00 on any day other than Wednesday. On Wednesday my best time is either 3:00 or 4:00.

I can't post before 4 on any week day. 

We also need to work out time zones!  It seems like nobuggy mentions this, but if I get on at MY 5:30 and someone from Tennessee gets on at THEIRS, there will be a 3 hour difference. Good idea, though!

Oh, yeah, I keep forgetting that not everyone's homeschooled. And the time zone thing does have a problem, especially for the people who don't want to share where they live. Mary Jo brought this up. So, how about this: the time we pick is Central Standard Time, since that's what the Admin. run on? 

What we should probably do is have it on a weekend, so no one's in school. Would this plan work out for you all? (I got the time differences from Mary Jo's chart.)
