Best Friends !

Best Friends !

So , who's your bes tfriend ? Do you have one ? Do you want one ? Is it a boy or a girl ? A sibling , or a youth pastor ? What do you love about them ? How did y'all meet ? How long have you known each other ? How long have y'all been best friends ? How old are they ? Are they a lot like you , or very different ?

Well , I'll answer .

My Best Friend - well , I have a lot of best friends . Like 4 . But I'll start out w. my main bestiee , Jessica . Wow . Where do I start . Okay uhm , she's obviously a girl . ( I have like a million nicknames for her ! ) . I love how she has a passion to learn about the Savior , and a desire to know him , and I love how she's kind and sweet natured . We met about 3 and a half years ago at church . At the time we were both 11 and VERY shy . It was like BOOM . Instant best friends . She's my age ( well , she's like 6 months older ) . And nooooo we couldn't be any more different . She's quiet and sweet , I'm loud and can be obnoxious . She likes the country boys and I like the bad ones xD She's lives in the beautiful country and I live in the ghetto . Haha, well I love her so much .

Justin - haha my "best fried" , my "big brother" . Well he's a boy .. he's 20 .. he's my neighbor .. I love that he has a HUGE heart , and he's funny . We met like 10 years ago .. wow that's a long time .. yeaa . Him and his little brother ( who's now 15 ) would come to my house to play .. And well , he started working for us last summer , but this summer we got really close . So like yea . This year . Man I tell him everything . There's not one thing he doesn't know about me .. And yeah , we're totally opposite .

Chelsea - Ahhhhhhh ChelssChelss . Well we met like 10 years ago at school , and really up until last year , we didn't like each other .  She's going to be 16 . I love how she's got personality , she can dance AND sing , she's hilarious and reeaally pretty . I consider her a best friend , but for her she considers me one of her best friends ( her novio .. boy friend .. is her main best friend ) . But we are like exactly alike ! I mean we look absolutly nothing alike and I can't dance to save my life , but you get the point .

Man , I missed like 2 . Haha , well  now I wanna hear about you best friend !

For all you who's "best friend" is a CBer , I encourage you to get close to someone . Best friends are amazing . Sometimes you hate them . Most of the time you love them . You get mad at them , but you start talking to them an hour later because you have important stuff to tell them .

And , for y'all who think your best friend has to be exactly like you and have the same interests , my friend , you are wrong . My best friend and I are nothing alike . We don't even like the same kind of music . Or the same kinds of books .

Don't get me wrong, have friends, and one or two who I consider a best friend. I know that they don't have to have all the same interests as you, but one or two would be nice. In seriously have nothing in common with my "best friend". She doesn't read, write, she doesn't like the same shows or movies or music as me, we dance together, but she doesn't even like dance. I definitely feel more connected to CBers.  And like I said on an earlier post, most of the people who could be my best friends, I only see in the summer.

I do have a pretty good friend that I met last summer and we literally emailed every day.

Then she started getting all boy-crazy and things fell apart.

I don't really have a best friend at this point, just a bunch of really good friends. I suspect that most of them won't be here for very long, just a few years, since we're all at an international school, but here they are:

Sam is really (and I mean really) hyper and absolutely crazy about soccer and rugby and throwing whiteboard erasers at people (i.e. me). He also came up with my nickname, Cheesecake. Karl is my Austrian Game of Thrones co-reader (is that even a word?), Fred, Mark, Tanvi and Josie are kinda like Sam, soccer-mad and occaisionally hyper. Sara and I talk in Indian accents for the amusement of our Science classmates, and like a lot of you guys on here is obsessed with John Green. Jillian is also in my Science class (like half my friends are) and we often end up commiserating about our homework and sharing answers for it.

I'm not sure whether I should put Audrey (who I've called Artichokes on another thread) on this list since we've kind of stopped talking because she's bad at checking her email, which is the way we used to talk to each other, but I will. She's just amazing. I used to like her, and I might still like her, but I'm honestly not sure. She's hilarious and can swear in around 7 languages, has a fondness for hoodies, and is a bunch of other things that I can't put on here because I need to go have lunch.

One best friend, I can't say. I would have to pick these three.

Paul: I've known Paul the longest. He plays tuba/trombone/baritone/piano/drums. He always wears a baseball cap. (It's a Giants one. It used to be a Cal one. And before that it was a different Giants one. But now it's a Giants one. SF Giants, in case you care.) He's usually very sarcastic and engages in lengthy extended metaphors about life with me through text. And he always wins debates.

Ryan: I met Ryan through band and cross-country. He plays saxophone (same as me) and also plays in jazz band, so we know each other through that. He plays water polo and swims competitively. Since I hate competitive swimming, this is probably our main difference. He runs cross-country, so I know him through that. And he is good at voices.

Simon: Simon is really tall. (6'3". In eighth grade, people.) He has long blond hair. It's fairly accurate to picture him as a mop standing upright. He also runs cross country, although he didn't this year. He's a good writer/reader/peer editor in general, so he's my idea-bounce-off-ee in English class. He plays piano, but he's not in band, so.

Unfortunately, I will probably be split up from one or two of them when I go off to high school next year, because there is this whole thing where they tore down our city's high school like fifty years ago and so now we have to go to high school in one of two neighboring cities and so people get split up and it's really annoying. Yeah.

Oh my gosh, I can totally relate to you on the high school thing. I've been going to a private school for the past three years but next year I'm going to a public school and the rest of the grade is going to über-conservative Catholic schools that don't include pants or shorts in the girls' uniform or snobby non-religious private schools for millionaires. I'll keep in touch with my two best friends, obviously, but there's some people with whom I can't keep in touch because we're not really close enough friends but with whom I'm really enjoying hanging out right now.

About the high school thing , just be homeschooled like me , and you won't have that problem !

Lol , I don't get me wrong , I don't like being caged-up and "protected" . I mean I see other kids at ... HEB ... and Church , and if there's a party for someone in our church .

But , I don't think that going to high school in a neighboring city has anything to do with anything . I think that it's you're in high school , then you feel like you're "different" or "more cool" , so thaaat's why you stop chillen' with your old crowd .

My best friend's name is Sarah. She's so thoughtful, caring, and nice. She makes me laugh- really hard all the time! We've been friends since first grade, and hopefully we'll be best friends for life! Now we're in sixth grade. . . so that's six years of awesome friendship! :o)

Seems like there a lot of people named Sarah...

I have a core group of five really good friends:

Sara: She's my twin - we share the same name and have the same initials, our dads work in the same field, we like the same things... she's Princess Marie and I'm Princess Plumblossom. I'm the half Asian version version of her, and she's the version of me with a childhood. She skates, and is really good at videogames.

Grace: The fully Asian version of me. She's not short at all, but because she's the shortest out of all of us, we tease her about it a lot. She plays tennis, has a house stocked like Costco, and about sixty different colors of nail polish. We've all ended up borrowing clothes from her at one time or another. Better than I am at videogames.

Jessie: She goes to a different high school than we do, a private one in Chicago. She does crew there and is really good at it. She tends to have three different crushes on three different boys at the same time. Not horrible at videogames.

Maddie: Plays tennis, moved to Minnesota last summer, but we still Skype her and talk over Facebook regularly. She's really good at videogames as well, and she and one of Lauren's older brothers play GTA5 together. My fellow crazy-tumblr-fangirl.

Lauren: She's the oldest, 11 months older than Grace, who's the youngest. She's the one who started the Doctor Who train. She also plays tennis, is good at videogames, and has great fashion sense.

We're all really close and we're all comfortable with each other. Sara is the only one who went to a different middle school, but I wasn't really friends with any of them until halfway through seventh grade. We all have similar interests, and we end up liking the same things because of that.

Example:

Jessie: I don't think I'll like Sherlock.

The rest of us: You will. You better.

We tie Jessie to a chair and run a Netflix marathon.

Jessie: I like Sherlock.

Mission accomplished! This works and has worked for everything except Hannibal.

Me and Maddie: Hannibal! Hannigram! Eat the rude!

Everyone else: Shut up we're eating.

We enjoy a lot of the same things, but not everything. Jessie likes romance novels and One Direction, Maddie has twenty different fandom shirts, Grace likes Psych, Sara has a tendency to bake for everything, and Lauren has a Tumblr put refuses to go on it for some mysterious reason, like "it wastes too much time". It's pretty great, having friends like these.

We're also completely okay with shipping each other with guys and coming up with ship names. It's pretty great.
