First, please don't leave! Second, there are a lot of other older kids on here (not as much as 11 and 12 years old). Oh and yes there are a lot of new, younger people on the Chatterbox (me included) but I just don't think you should leave. Hm... I sound do not very convincing; I think we need more people to comment with their opinions (please?).

Yes I found this post again! For some reason it keeps on bringing it back to the very oldest posts (or threads). Well I still think the same thing, please stay! I wrote this comment (this one not the first one) to hopefully help bring this thread to the top. Wow, our birthdays must be pretty close together, because I turn 14 in 2 weeks. I see what you mean about there being more people who are 11/12, but it doesn't bother me. There are still quite a few of us who are 13 and older. I, like you, usually hang out with people who are ar least a year or two older than me, mostly because most of the girls my age are incredibly immature, and I am the opposite. Most people think I'm 16 or older. But anyway, don't leave just because there are new people who are younger than you! If you want to leave, then that's your choice, but I wouldn't leave for that reason, especially because at least half of the CB is closer in age to you and your friends.

I actually thought the majority of the people on the Chatterbox are fourteen\fifteen, somwhere around there. There's only a couple peeps who are twelve, and I've only seen myself who's eleven. Besides, I'll be twelve in one and three quarters months. I don't think we're all kids here.

And don't leave!!! We'll miss you! And then that'll be like taking away one of the siblings in this big, happy, crazy family! So bear with us, please?

Vida, don't leave! I am a homeschooled Texan as well, but yes, I think that CB's newbies are mostly younger people. I joined when I was nine or ten, and my sister when she was about eight. Lots of people are older, and I would say that CB's average is about 14-15, in age.

I'm 15. I don't have that many friends IRL, but they're all in high school (if only because that's the only place I see anyone my age). The vast majority of my else-Internet friends are in high school or college. I don't have trouble relating to the people here who are younger than me, though; I think I have more in common with them than most people I know IRL who are my age/older. (Not more than with my else-Internet friends, but that's because I'm picky about where I spend my time else-Internet. Mostly MuseBlog, as far as forums go, and that's one place I don't think I could ever have trouble fitting in).

What I can tell you for sure is that you will be accepted here no matter what. Whether you stay is up to you. We'd like you to, of course; we love having you. If you don't find yourself interested in much of what we talk about, though, then of course you don't have to stay. Have you noticed the younger ChatterBoxers talking about a lot of stuff you don't care about, or are you just speculating that it might happen because of their age? If it's the latter, I certainly think you should give them a chance at least.

If you want a place where you can talk to mostly older CBers--do you have a Facebook? The Cricket Chatterboxers "Official" Facebook Group is not very active, but it does get some conversation. If it's okay with your parents, you could join that. Since you have to be at least 13 to have a Facebook, the people there are older. Some of them are farther from you in age than the 11-12-year-olds, though, just in the other direction.

There are a lot of 14 and older people on here, like the doctor, L, and others. I personally don't think you should leave, but if you feel you should, maybe you should try Cicada. I don't know if they have a Chatterbox or anything, but it's for 14 and up and maybe you would like it better. Even though please don't leave us. We will grovel in the darkness you leave behind. What does Admin have to say?

We enjoy hearing from all ages. We don't keep a record, but it seems like there are plenty of teenagers. I think many of the discussions, questions, book reviews, poems, and stories written on Chatterbox are good for all ages.

I don't have any friends in real life except for my best friend, who's nine. So I don't really have any trouble relating to younger people. I suppose I'm immature sometimes, but i can be mature if I need to. I just usually don't and it's funner to be a little immature somtimes.  Thn you can play idiotic pranks on people, tease your mother (mine is so funny to tease and she's used to it) and laugh at stupid jokes. And make your own jokes.

But, Vida, if ya think we're all too young, then ya don't have to stay. But'll I miss you!

Before the school year started, I thought that the average age on the CB was about 13/14.  Many of the new people are younger than that, and some of the older folks have been leaving/being slammed with homework, so I get why the younger ones seem to make up the majority.  I find that it doesn't really matter for me how old a person on the CB is because we're all very intelligent and sound a lot older than we actually are.  It's really nice for me, to have a group of intelligent people to talk to outside of school!

Also, Vida, please don't leave! If you feel you really need to leave for any reason that's completely reasonable, but you would be really missed, and I can speak for everyone when we say that we don't mind if you are older than us!

There are a lot of people who are joining that are younger, but when we joined we were about their age.  There are definitely still a lot of us who are older.  If you have other interests from some of the people on here, maybe you should start a thread (as long as it's appropriate) about it and see if anyone does share it.  You would be surprised at how many people on here have interests in certain things.  We encompass so many different types of people.

I myself am twelve, but am in eighth grade and am going to be turning thirteen this November. (The twentieth, to be precise.)

It does seem like there are a lot of younger CBers around these days. Not that I'm complaining. Maybe it's just the next generation moving in . . . it is sad, but lots of CBers I have known have left. It seems like there's just a large group of older people sort of moving away for an assortment of reasons. (Namely, schoolwork.)
