NaNoWriMo !O

NaNoWriMo !

Okaay , well my mom & I think I should do this ( there's about 6,000 members in our local area ) but I'm not too sure about acutally meeting up w. people ..

I thought that it was you personally writing your novel at home just on the internet or something , not meeting up w. people . So , ehhh I'm not too sure that ...

So can you all give me your opinions / experiences ? Please ?

NaNoWriMo is completely virtual. This was my first year, and I started with the April session of Camp Nano. We're just about to finish up the July session, and it's a total blast! You don't have to get together with anyone to do it. The officail NanoWriMo is in November, where you have to write a 50k word novel, during Camp you can adjust your word count. It's a lot of fun, and I totally say DO IT!

The meet-ups are totally optional; on the site, it's not even mandatory to tell them your location I think.

Camp NaNoWriMo was started last year. It's the same as NaNo but it runs during June, July, and August I think and it has a different website.

And you should definitely do NaNo! I've done it three years in a row and haven't regretted it ever- it really helps you get a sizable first draft and maybe even finish it all in a month and the pep talks are great :D

It's definitely worth trying! I started my novel in April, and am still writing it. A lot of cbers do it.

You don't need to meet up with people, although I've heard it's a lot more fun when you do it that way!

I did the YWP last November, and epically failed at Camp this month and in April.  It's fun, although somewhat stressful and I always end up book deprived.

I know, me too. April and July are just WAY to busy! But I guess November will be too, so we'll just have to see.

NANOWRIMO IS REALLY NEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I've done both Nano and the camp, and they're both great. One thing about the camp is the absence of a word counter during writing, and that you can't have a word goal less than 10,000. Other than that, they're basically the same, and they're both Amazing!!!Laughing

Nano also helps focus and it's a really helpful experience. I did the adult one in November so I had to write 1667 words every day in order to get 50,000 and somehow I managed, because I wanted the CreateSpace code award :p Anyway when some of my classmates freak out about 1000-word minimum assignments I just grin on the inside and think, "I can write it in a day." Before Nano I'd be pretty daunted myself but not anymore :p I also wrote a 10,000 word HP fanfic in four days for a fest, which was stressful but fun :D

Hello Vidaaa,

I can't really tell you much about NaNoWriMo because this year will be my first time. But I say you should try it out.
