This is a little late but whatever. So how was your New Year? Did you set off any fireworks? :)

By the way, I've been gone for like 3 weeks or something and I just wanted to apologize. I've been working on a book and there've been a lot of tests at school but I'll try to post more often. :)

back to the Down to Earth

My New Year was great!

I went to Bedford with my family to see my cousins. We stayed there until over 8:00 and it takes 2 hours to get home. That means we get home at 10:00! *yawns* I'm still tired!

How many people stayed up until midnight to see the new year? I would have been one of them, but I slept through my alarm clock!

 

On TV I saw the ball drop in Times Square (midnight Eastern is 11 pm Central time where we live), then watched beautiful fireworks from Navy Pier in Chicago at midnight Central. Then I went to bed.

I stayed up until past 12. We shot off the rest of our fireworks at twelve and then we watched some. Then we went to bed and I finished one of my books. :) It was fun but I was really tired the next day. :D

My New Year was good. We didn't set off fireworks, but we watched the finale of Merlin. It was depressing. Not only because my favorite show is over, but because  they killed off 50% of my favorite characters, too. And I just didn't like the ending. The ending I imagined was better. But anyway, enough with the rant.

I didn't stay up.  And I pretty much hung out in my step mom's apartment and things (we had just had Christmas with my sister) and listened to dad say every so often "let's turn on the TV and see if we fell off the fiscal cliff."  Then he never listened to the TV when we did turn it on.  He was like that for the next two days.  Nyarsh.

We shot off bottle rockets at midnight in the giant park by my house and made a lot of noise, because ours is a noisy family. Also, hi again!

My New Year was AWESOME!!! My mom surprised the family with a new fire pit for Christmas, so we decided to try it out on New Year's eve! We roasted hot dogs and made smores. I, myself, had a can of soda, 2 hot dogs, & 4 smores! Then I acted like a complete lunatic, (I'm sure the neighbors thought we had a secret moonshine still somewhere, and were about to call an asylum), by singing We Wish You a Merry Christmas at the top of my lungs, rolled down the hill till I was dizzy and sick, then sat watching distant fireworks, and listening to what sounded like my neighbors shooting off a canon. Finally, being on a major sugar rush, I stayed up till 2 in the morning watching Christmas movies! Tada! My family usually launches bottle rockets, nearly catching all the trees in a 500 yard radius on fire, but just didn't get the chance this year. Tragic, right?

My New Year was great. I stayed up until midnight and played games with my family. At 12 everyone gathered for a toast. The next day (Jan. 1) we drove home from my grandma's, because we had school the next day. HAPPY NEW YEARS!
