I know this is really late because of school and stuff, but glad you're okay, Gollum/Holmes and other East Coast CB'ers.
Living in California---not only that, like, right on the coast of California---I have absolutely no experience with this kind of thing. Earthquakes? Yeah, sure. Hurricanes? Eh . . . no.
Hope you have enjoyed this short and slightly random post. Spammy says fpff.

The worst thing that happened in my area was minor flooding, trees falling and power out for about six days, as far as I know. Not too bad. My dad keeps saying "There's this Hurricane Isaac forming and coming towards us from the Atlantic ocean." Then I point out that the alphabet is not "R, S, I" and he goes "Oh, maybe they got the dates mixed up." And then I think, dad, things on the internet could be actually expired.

My mum doesn't even look at stuff on the internet, she's dead against it because of some things she's seen.
I like the way you name the hurricanes, so the next one will be 't' something right?

William are the names for this year's Hurricanes. There has never been a Hurricane Helen, but there was a Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Helena. Not even a tropical storm Helen! Nyarsh.

That's okay, there's never been a hurricane me either. Although there has been a Hurricane Iris, which is one of my nicknames. (I played Iris in a production of Fame, Jr.)

We will survive. Maybe.
Spamster in his spamster cage speaks! He say epic. Hurricanes aren't exactly epic, but a hurricane Kyra* or Helen would be epic.
*I think this is your name?

@Zach L.
Earthquakes are pretty bad, too. There was just one in Maine a few weeks ago. It was pretty big for around here. My sister and I felt it, but the rest of my family didn't.
@Saz
Yeah, although it's a little late in the season, so I don't think many people are expecting another huge one like that.

Hope you're safe. I'll pray for everyone effected by the hurricane. It didn't hit us, but I know hurricanes. We've been by quite a few before. Plus, I recently lived where we didn't get hurricanes, but hurricane winds. In fact, there's a story where a coulple wanted to buy a house in the area some years ago, but the guy wouldn't sell, and he said: "I don't want your blood on my hands." He said that because the winds would get so strong! Thankfully, we never got any THAT strong, but it DID blow our screen door off its hinges.
