Hurrican Sandy is coming our way!  Nyarsh.  My dad's all freaked out and my mom doesn't care.  Sooo, all you east coastern CBers, any thoughts?

Stay safe, Holmes! I'm in the Midwest.

Good luck, Holmes! I really have no experience with hurricanes, living in California all my life. Please be safe!

My thoughts:

Yay!  No school!  I was so excited when I got the phone call!  We're not in the direct line, so I'm not worried or anything.

It's supposed to be coming over Pennsylvania and western NY, but where I am we're still going to be hit kind of bad.  School's out today, but Halloween is when it's supposed to be the worst.  Nyarsh.  I have a friend who lives next to a stream and they're doing some major work on the house.  Oh dear.

I find it odd how the east coast has had more big storms than we have. It's been four years since my family has had to evacuate.

Well, I have no advice since I have never been home when there was a hurricane.

I was sitting there earlier, and all they were running on tv was about the hurricane.  Scratch that, all they're running on tv is still about the hurricane.  There are rumors there won't be school tomorrow either, but nothing confirmed.  The storm started out with a lot of wind, then it rained really hard for a while.  It's back to a lot of wind.  I've heard of a lot trees and wires that fell.

We got power back today!  Fortunately it was only out for slightly over 24 hours.  Quote of the day: "I think we have a moral obligation to eat that ice cream before it gets wasted."  Our freezer wasn't working, so, yeah.  My power line is literally lying across the lawn and the phone still works.  I was really scared, if the power wasn't back by Thursday, I would be behind on Nano.  Some kids might have to go back to school tomorrow without power at home.  That's just mean.  We get a four day weekend and the day we go back to school is Halloween.  Nyarsh.

Spamster in his spamster cage says meen.  Yes, I said it was mean already.

I'm glad you got your power back, Gollum. I hope it wasn't too cold to enjoy the ice cream.

Our power didn't go out, but in half of my neighborhood, it was out.  A ton of power lines and trees came down.  I'm really lucky, because I live in a city with really bad flooding and my house has never flooded.  There was a really cool thunderstorm last night.  It was one of those thunderstorms where it was completely dark out, but the lightning was blinding.  The rain was coming down so hard.  It's a good thing I think thunderstorms are cool, because if not, I would have been freaking out.

Today was my first day back in school since Friday.  I liked being able to sleep in.  On Monday, my neighbors came over and we played Disney Scene It and Blu officiated a dance contest.  Then we got takeout.  I forgot how good chicken fingers taste with duck sauce until then!

Overall, I'm just thankful that even though I'm on the East Coast, I'm in a place that doesn't normally get hit heard by hurricanes.  If Hurricane Sandy hadn't curved like that, it would have been so worse.  I hope everyone who was in the direct path is okay.

Hurricane? I've never been in one, like ever. Or seen one for that matter, though up in Queensland (where is really hot!) they have hurricanes that wipe out all the bananas!!!!! And I love bananas..... Why did they plant all the banana trees in the same place where they always get smoshed by a lot of wind?!

Anyway, good luck! I'm glad you get some days off school, (i really need one because I didn't sleep last night or the night before because it's start to get hot and I share a room with my sisters and they breathe (duh) and make the room stuffy and the windows are jamed so I die!!!!!!!!!!)

The only reason I'm posting is because I have nothing else to do, I've finished all my work.

Anyway (my favourite word!).

They are NOT allowed to postpone Halloween until the first day of Nano.  Not cool.

Definetly.  Enjoy your non-hurricane Halloween.  Hold on, Halloween for you is in May-ish weather?  Lucky!!!!!  Around here, sweaters have ruined many a costume.
