I have a horrible cold at the moment so I was wondering what you usually do when you have a sore throat (other than eating honey and cough drops and drinking tea).
If I feel a scratchy throat coming on, I drink more orange juice and tea with lemon, eat oranges, and try to get plenty of rest. Hope you feel better soon.

You're not alone. I'm sick too, except I have a really bad stomach bug. The best thing to do for scratchy throats is eat lots of good, local honey if you can get it, drink lots of fluids, and rest. The rest takes time.

I always drink lemon honey tea. You put lemon juice and a scoop of honey in your cup, then pour hot water over it. I think it really helps.

I had a sore throat recently (my least favorite cold symptom, not that I have a favorite) and sleep seemed to help. I dozed off listening to one of my dad's books on tape and felt a lot better afterwards. My brother tells me to have lots of calcium when I have a cold, too.

Cough drops with menthol work really well if you also have a stuffy nose. Drink herbal tea or hot water with lemon and honey. Avoid dairy and stuff. Citrus is good. Have a very large stack of books handy. That is my cure all. "Be careful about reading health books, you may die of a missprint"~Mark Twain

"Clear" hot soups like chicken soup, leek soup, onion soup, and broths, make sure they are hot though. You could also eat foods with garlic, ginger and sit near steam, I hope that helps.
