Yom Kippur starts

Yom Kippur starts tonight!

No, my family doesn't celebrate it, but I fast (with water, parents insist) until noon as Jewish  children (kids 12 and under) do. I know that most of us aren't Jewish, but I am bringing this up anyway, and I am pretty sure that Choco is fasting all day with no water, so anyway.

Your thoughts on the topic?

back to the Down to Earth

Since I'm not Jewish, and we get the day off of school, I'm just going to volunteer at the library.  My friend is fasting tomorrow, with or without water, I don't know.  My dad's girlfriend is fasting tomorrow, I believe, although last year she had a carrot or something before the sun went down. (Sacrilige!)

I am Jewish, but this year I didn't fast because I was sick. :(

I am technically Jewish but my parents are divorced and only my dad is Jewish. A girl in my first block is Jewish too. We are reading THE DEVIL'S ARITHMETIC in Language Arts and when SHE explains the Jewish stuff they let her talk but if I explain the Jewish stuff they say WE WEREN'T TALKING TO YOU MAGGIE SHUT UP! Grrr it makes me MAD!
