Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Names.....
I was wondering about the reasons people chose their "names" on Chatterbox. Did they choose because of a obsession, a nickname, a cool word, their real name or other? Personally I chose my name by finding the meaning of my first name, using it as a verb and placing it in front of the meaning for my middle name. It would also be nice to know how you choose your character names, pet names or any other type of name.

My real name is Leah, so Leah... L... yeah. Kinda boring. UNTIL you insert the amazingness of Death Note! /obsession
For character names, I like old-sounding names that still can be revamped into something amazing. Take Felicity, from Mechanical Masquerades. You probably don't have anyone named Felicity in your school. You've probably never met somebody named Felicity. The last time you heard this name was a) referring to your great-aunt, b) the American Girl thingie, or c) used as a noun meaning happiness and stuff. But the name itself still sounds pretty amazing for a girl in modern times, no?

My friend got me into Flower Fairies and Blackberry Elf-Glitter is my fairy name. I use it a lot as a pseudonym.

Like the Cicely Mary Barker Flower Fairies?

Yes! Those Flower Fairies. We have some books about those fairies, and one is called The Girl's Book of the Flower Fairies and in it is how to get your Flower Fairy name. So I followed the chart thingy and I came out with Blackberry Elf-Glitter!

It took me quite some time to figure out what I would name myself. I wanted it to be something like the name of a plant, because I suppose I was looking out at my garden at the time and thought that plant names work well as names in general. I really wanted to use Sage, but thought it might be misinterpreted as a wise person, not the plant. Finally, I came to the conclusion of Leaf, and after thinking about it for awhile, I decided it would work. There are really no double meanings or ways to think about it other than simply a physical leaf, or so I think. I've actually met someone recently whose name is Leaf (though that's more of a nickname, not his real name) and now there is a car called the Nissan Leaf (and it's all electric which makes me beyond happy). And it's funny, because every time I see leaf used as a name, I think of the Chatterbox. It's almost like a link to another world - the world of buggies. :)

I'm new, but...
The constellation is cool.
Simple enough?

I guess so.
When I was 14, I was obsessed with the Silverwing books, so I decided to become a little bat.
I don't really write, and when I do, I'm no good with character names. I go bug my sister and other people I know who write for names and they give me some.
