Chatterbox... History.
Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Chatterbox... History.
Chatterbox... History.
What I mean, is... Well, once, I joined the Chatterbox under another name. I didn't stay because, well, I was ten and I was annoyed when the threads went to the bottom, because I thought that they disappeared forever...
But, anyway, that was around the Warriors era. And a while ago, I was searching through the pages of BaB, I found them. The era where it's ___clan, ___clan, TwighlIght, STOP THE WARRIORS __clan, ___clan. And I read some threads. I was.... Well, glad I wasn't around.
Anyway, when I joined and stayed, there was another era. It was a nervous one, one where 'found Chatterboxers' and 'where is everyone' and 'the CB is dying' threads were popping up. A bunch of people were leaving, some with sad goodbye messages, some without so much as a good-bye.
But now, what I want to say is that right now... It's like the opposite. Tons of diverse threads. New people arriving and staying, old people coming back.
The CB is... Alive!
Thanks, Tiffany, for this great summary.

How do you pronounce it?
(July 11, 2012 - 9:47 am)
@Jess
Ky=Key, like you use on a lock
Ra=exactly as it looks

NO WAY!! That's MY name!!! And you are like the first person I've met who spells it AND pronounces it like I do. I have met a lot of Kyras who pronounce Ky (rhymes with sky) ra. And everybody I meet PRONOUNCES IT WRONG when they're talking to me! Do you have that problem?
(July 12, 2012 - 9:14 am)
Oh my gosh!
Yeah, people call me that, too. I've even had some people call me Kara.

I joined as Holmes S. on May 14th, 2012. I later shortened that Holmes, but then switched to Gollum. So you see, I have not been around too long.

I was here for all three eras. I joined in the middle of the warriors era. I remember the warriors era very clearly. There was a very small Harry Potter obsession on BaB a while ago, probably around the end of the warriors era.

Oh, yes... And there was the Quiz Era and the Suspicion Era (someone lied about their identity and made up some new people, but we didn't know which newcomers were the made-up ones, so there was a lot of... tension) and the Debate Era...
I came pretty much when the Debate Era was ending, which was a pity, because it was just before I realized how much I loved debates. Then again, I'm sure any debate posts I would have made then would embarrass me now. My posts from back then often do embarrass me; it was 4 years ago, after all.
The Warriors era was definitely happening when I arrived, too. It lasted a long time. I actually participated in some of the Warriors RolePlays, but I only once started a new Clan, and I definitely didn't support the more extreme RPers who actually got angry at people for complaining about how many threads there were.
It's interesting to see how it changes. Even things like average age can fluctuate.

I joined in December 2010. :) That was after the Warriors Era (I'm glad I wasn't there). I was there for the whole "found CBers" and "Missing CBers" era, which was sad because a lot of great people left. And now (YAY!) everyone's coming back!

I joined around April 2010. I think it could be part of a lengthy era called the "Great Awakening Era". There were many new ideas, threads, and concepts. I created and joined a lot of them! Remember...
-The height of ZNZ and Ima's world domination war
- TCCP (The Chatterbox Currency Project; people opened up fake stores and companies, using virtual money to pay visits to other stores. There was a bank and an employment thread.)
- Lots and lots of RPs and Round Robins
- DTRA (Dead Thread Revival Agency)
- The Author Pairs
....and much more!
I've also been around for the Missing CBer Era, and some of the
Hunger Games one. I saw some of the Identity Crisis Era by surfing
through old DtE posts. *shivers* It was not pretty. Appearently,
somebody joined the Chatterbox. Later, though, they revealed that they
were lying and asked to be known as SMS in a virtual-tearfilled
apology. Around that time, similar people began posting using similar
locations and similar speech. Some people suspected that they had been
created by SMS, while others thought they were real. People took sides,
and accusations flew about whether other well-known Chatterboxers were
real- a lot of new people had been joining. Lots of users left. Then,
on top of that, SMS came out in another post (which I'm pretty sure has
been deleted by the Admins, since I can't re-find it), and revealed
that yes, she was most of the new people that were similar...but not in the most humble way.
And I found all that out just by reading the threads. *shudders.*
Anywho...
This is a cool idea for a thread! I've seen lots of other eras, too. The SI (secret identities) era, the Pie Wars era, the Smiley Face/Smiley Buddies era...we should compile all our eras and write a Compleat History of the Chatterbox. (Old Fashioned Misspelling=Cool!)

I joined about two summers ago. I didn't know much about being online then, so I would type everything like this in a huge annoying run-on sentence with frequent misspellings and obscure references to Tolkein, WHO IS THE AWESOMEST AUTHOR IN THE WORLDEEEE!!!!!!
Hopefully, I've learned a few things since then.
I well remember the Warriors era. I didn't really get it. I mean, having only threads about some weird cats (sorry, I don't know the series at all) was kind of annoying, but I wasn't one of those who got really worked up about it.
I also remember lots of HPRPs a bit later.
I had to leave briefly last winter, but now I'm back.
That's my CB history!
(July 22, 2012 - 4:45 pm)
I came here January 2010 apparently and I went by Alexa B. also -_-" I think that was near the end of the HPRP, TAPM, and the Debate era and the beginning of the Warriors era. I wouldn't really know because I just stayed in Inkwell though.

Ignore my last post where I said the thread was deleted by admins. I found this: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/downtoearth/node/56489

Hi there, everyone! I don't actually want to think about how long it's been since I've been around. I can't guarantee that I'm back, but I certainly do miss everyone. I can see just in this thread alone, that there are lots of new faces (not literally of course) that I have yet to meet. I was a bit of a lurker before I joined, so I read some of the debates from the Debate Era and officially joined right before the era of mistrust (see the thread linked by Writing Warrior) and went through all of that, which wasn't the most fun of times. But then, the CB rose and fell in activity, old timers left and came back, new buggies arrived, and different activities went in and out of fashion (so to speak): quizzes, SIs, how-to's, and all sorts of different projects. I'm so, so happy to hear that the CB is alive these days, and mabye I'll be able to squeeze in the time to post more here. Are there any things I should know that have changed much within the past few months? I can't wait to see what I've been missing!

I don't remember when you were last here, so I don't know if you ever knew Analesia at all, or if you were here for her name change, but if you do know Analesia, that's who Melody is.
