I've noticed that there are quite a few newbies here so I felt like I should just explain a few things. Feel free to add things. :) 

1. "Top", "Poke", "To the top" etc. For some unknown reason, a new thread is sent to the back of the threads after it's been commented on for the first time. People "top" it so that it'll go to the front page. 

2. RP means Role-Play. You create a character and then write in the point of view of that character. (Some people write in third person. That's okay too.) RPs are often based on books but there are a lot of original ones, too. See Inkwell and Pudding's Place for examples.

3. RR means Round Robin. Someone starts a story and then someone goes on with it. See Inkwell.   

4. SI. People make a different identity based on a theme or not and try to keep their identity hidden until a certain date when chatterboxers start guessing. See Chirp at Cricket.

5. Character Lounges. I've never done this myself, but I think you basically drop a character from a book into a "lounge" with other characters and see how they get along. Someone else could tell you more. :D

Also, Spammy:

The thingy at the bottom where you have to type in four letters is nicknames Spammy by the Chatterboxers. There are other names for it, like Spamboy, Spamdragon, Princess of Spamalot, etc. We sometimes like to say what it's asking us to type in right now, just because it sometimes sounds eerily like a real word. For example, right now it says 'pfrz'

One more thing- I asked myself this a lot when I first got here. Who is Admin? For those who didn't already know: Admin stands for administrator. There're three of them. If you submit a post you don't see it immediately because it has to go through the Admins first. After they've checked it for appropriateness (etc.) the thread is posted. :)
