OK....I was wondering
OK....I was wondering if anyone else lives in or knows about cohousings. My parents built one in Peterborough, NH and its a lot of fun, For those of you who don't have any idea what cohousing is(I didn't either until a I moved in) its like a neighborhood but everyone is a lot closer. Each person has their own house but there is also a commen house which we all share. We have meals twice a week and sometimes parties and stuff. Our whole community is run by six wood pellet boilers and we have solar panels for electricity. Let me know if anyone else has heard of cohousing, or lives in one!......:) Also, anyone go to a waldorf school?

I think of heard of it, but I don't live in one. =) It sounds cool, though! Although I'm not sure it would be for me, ha. ;)

I really like the idea. Sounds fun!! But, no, I haven't heard, seen, or live in one.

That sounds sooo cool. We only know one family on our block. Come to think of it, all my really good friends live in different cities and I only see them at dance or dog class.

That sounds so wonderful! I would love to live in a cohousing. I don't know any of my neighbours, except for a couple people who we gave some chickens. And my mom knows someone who live eleven houses away that has a child about my age, but we've never gone to meet them...
My house is in a very tiny valley with woods, a meadow and a creek, and it looks like the middle of nowhere, except it's in the middle of town. :)

Aaaahhhh!!! Elsbeth!!! Oh my gosh, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw your name! Well, maybe not, but still... I'm so glad you're on. :D Oh, and by the way, it's me, your friend from CA, who cannot reveal her name on the internet, but is saying hi anyway. I go by Leaf here, and I bide my time swinging on my tree and enjoying the sunny weather in California. ;) It's, what, 7 degrees in Peterborough right now? The high was 71 today, here. :)
Oh, to contribute to this thread, cohousing is really amazing. It is amazing to actually know your neighbor and be able to just go outside, knock on someone's door, and be able to hang out with them. It's wonderful for the kids who can wander about the land (it's a rather largish property) and wonderful for the parents to not have to worry about them. The nearest town is just walking distance away, but the beautiful land doesn't feel like it's close to a town at all when you're there. I just love the vibe of a cohousing community! (Yes, this is where I go when I'm not in sunny CA and I mysteriously disappear to New Hampshire, if any of you have noticed.)
