Cricket Magazine Group

Cricket Magazine Group Fair! To quote Elizabeth Preston (Associate Editor for Muse),

"We’re having a Holiday Magazine Fair next Saturday (December 11) from 2-4 at the Chicago Cultural Center. All the Cricket Magazine Group magazines will be represented. There will be science and writing activities and artist demos, plus free hot chocolate, brownies, and magazines to take home. Our editors, art directors, and designers will be hosting the event—we’ll be easily recognizable by our festive bug antennae!"

To quote a Chicago tourism site,

"Make your own magazine with Cricket Magazine Group! Kids and parents are invited to an afternoon of fun with writers, editors, and artists from Chicago’s most-loved family of children’s magazines. Snuggle up with stories and write your own poetry in the Reading Nook, check out science experiments and take-home tricks at the Science Stuff table, and draw your very own magazine cover at the Illustration Station. The whole family will enjoy the kid-friendly sing-along, raffle for free magazine subscriptions, cool jazz, and hot cocoa. Best of all, you’ll take home a magazine you wrote and illustrated yourself!"

I just thought that I should mention this, in case anyone who lives near Chicago wants to go. I can't, because I'm not in the area. I would if I could, though; just the slim chance to win free magazine subscriptions would get me over there even if there was nothing else, and there are things else! I suppose if anyone needs to know where the Chicago Cultural Center is, they can Google the second quote to find more information on the Chicago Tourism site. Oh, and admission is free.
