Cancer. A word

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Cancer. A word

Cancer. A word that brings mostly fear for those who don't have it, and even more fear for those who do. I had blood cancer and didn't really enjoy. I just want to know, do any other Cricketers have/had cancer? If so, what kind?

I was diagnosed in June 2009, five weeks after the cancer appeared.  The doctor that we had said that everything was OK, even though I had huge bruises and little red dots all over me. Finally we swiched to another doctor and he told us that we should go up to the Apollo Cancer hospital. My parents said that we may be there a couple of days, which turned into four months. I watched a lot of TV and never complained much. My sister and my parents came to see me a lot, but my brothers were to young to visit, so I never saw them. But, a year and a half later, I'm OK, I don't have to go to do blood tests very often (yes!) and I play a lot of sports. I haven't passed my two-year mark yet (darn), but I'm pretty healthy; all I have is a little problem with my liver, but it's clearing up.

Our very best wishes to you, ALD, for your continued recovery. Thank you for sharing this with us. Your story will help others dealing with cancer. We keep you in our prayers.
