Favorite song(s): "Te Regalo" by Carlos Baute!! 2024 was actually the year I found out about Carlos Baute. His songs are so amazing, and "Te Regalo" is my absolute favorite. But some of my other favorites were "Te Mando Flores" by Fonseca (do you sense a theme?); "Little Mountain Churchhouse" by Carl Jackson; some Italian pop song whose title I never found out; "Donde Estare" by Hugo Salazar (the song is gorgeous!!) "Good Riddance" by Ashley Barrett.
Favorite book(s[series]): hmm... The Freaky Friday trilogy by Mary Rodgers; this book caleld World's Best Cities, and another one called The World's Greatest Hotels, both with lovely pictures; Love and Olives, by Jenna Evans Welch; probably a bunch of others
Favorite animal(s): Horses and guinea pigs!
Favorite color(s): Sea-green, sunset orange, dark purple, turquoise
Favorite author(s): Dickens, Mary Rodgers, Kristy Boyce, Jenna Evans Welch, Quino
Favorite music artist(s): Hahaha this one's easy: Carlos Baute! He's a pop singer, and his songs range from typical pop (like "La Cuenta") to less electronified (like "Quien te quiere como yo"). It's hard to describe the magic of his songs, and in my opinion everyone should listen to them. The instrumentals are lovely, the melodies are either catchy or breathtakingly gorgeous, and the lyrics are perfect.
Aside from Carlos Baute, I did also listen to a lot of Amy MacDonald and Fonseca, so those would probably be my favorites as well.
Favorite memory(ies): So many! Starting classes and going on field trips and getting to spend time with fun people; going to a nearby fair and holding the softest, plushiest black rabbit (live, not a stuffie!) on my lap; watching movies with my family; the Euro Cup and all its accompanying excitement and glory; going to plays; spending time with my sister; watching fun documentaries...
Favorite new hobby(ies) discovered last year: Using Blender (a software video editing thing) to make music videos.
Favorite movie(s, TV show/series, ect.): The Elephant and the Butterfly, this gorgeous movie set in Belgium. A little girl and her father, who haven't really gotten to know each other, spend time together and begin to build a beautiful father-daughter relationship. Her father shows her how to cook, reads her stories at night, and takes her to the beach. But they only have a few days together... what will happen when they must return to "normal" life? It's super simple: hardly any plot, mainly just happy scenes, but it almost makes you get weepy just through its beauty and poetry. It's basically about love and being happy together, and about childhood. And it's really absorbing and pretty to look at; there are beautiful landscapes, like the beach, and you feel as if you're there.
As for my favorite series, of course All Creatures Great and Small is one of them, but The Chosen is another. I just began watching it in November or something, with my family. It's really fun! Some of the episodes aren't that good, but some of them are great: the characters are really vivid and original, and you get really fond of them. They also seem to be fond of each other, which makes for a really great atmosphere, instead of the usual bickering that goes on in most series. Interspersed with the social drama, there's mystery and political intrigue: leaders getting upset and going after the main characters; a spy hanging about; Roman soldiers plotting. And then there are whole scenes where the characters discuss things and put forward ideas that can genuinely change your outlook on life, or at least make you think. It's about the life of Jesus, which sounds quite prim and prissy, but it could appeal to anyone because it's just so humanistic and interesting. Plus there's a lot of focus on the apostles, who are quite the characters, and a whole host of other uniquely-drawn figures. It just feels really warm and fun; because it's about good people who care about each other, you care about the characters yourself, and because there's adventure and mystery, you get intrigued. Also one of the characters is autistic and nearly all of them are Middle Eastern and/or Jewish (and acted by Middle Eastern Americans), so if you're looking for a series that has more representation, this might be it.
Favorite food(s): Fideos, grilled steak, papaya, blackberries, a particular kind of tangerine, salmon, lentils, chicken with breadcrumbs, peas
