I'm new to CB, so couple questions

Any tips to navigating kyngdom? I'm too lazy to read guides lol

Whats an AE?

Are posts arranged in order of when they are published? 

AE stands for Alter Ego. On Chatterbox, it's a character created to express a different part of your personality.

On any one thread, the comments appear in the order they are published. But the position of the threads may jump around a bit. There's a Chatterbox format update in the works, so that may change.

My tip is to read the guide when you have time because that would explain it best.

But if you really can't, I suggest you start by thinking about what RP you want to join. There is a BIG Academy RP, where students discover the mistreatment of the experiment subjects there and decide whether or not to help them, a Nobyl RP for Nobyls at the top of the social ladder in Kyngdom, an Al Nayadh RP for Catastrophe (the current ruler) supporters, and a SOCKS RP for scientists allied with the Resistance (people who oppose Catastrophe). Once you've decided what RP you want to join, I would suggest you go to the Who's Here thread and make a character based on the RP you want to join. Then, just hop into the RP and have fun! Feel free to ask more questions.

it's awesome to see you're taking an interest in kyngdom!! i'm not super active on there anymore (i just got super busy and couldn't keep up :P), so idk how much help i'll be. Moon Wolf gave some really great tips!

i just wanted to share Poinsettia's Quick Kyngdom Summary (http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/543756). it's a bit outdated at this point, but a great foundation if you don't want to look through the longer kyngdom guides, but still want a bit of background before jumping into RPing :) i recommend reading the ultimate guide to kyngdom (https://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/404640) at some point - it's dense, but it's super helpful and in-depth, and it's absolutely not necessary when you're just starting :)

like the admin said, AEs are alter egos - characters that CBers create to represent an aspect of their personality. they typically have special ways of speaking (bold, italics, symbols on either ends of their dialogue, etc). for instance, here are some of my AEs --

aes can show up in posts, and sometimes they have designated threads (AE parties, AE diaries, etc). creating relationships and rping between your aes and other cbers' is one of my favorite parts of the CB :D 

and about post order - yeah, like the admin said, comments on a thread appear in the order they're published, with the oldest at the top, but the order of threads is a little weirder. luckily, there's some tricks to navigate them: if you click the "Submitted By" button, it will put the threads in order of oldest to newest. Click it again, and it will order them from newest to oldest (this works for every section except for Blab About Books, for some reason, where one click = newest to oldest, and two clicks = oldest to newest. no one knows why, it's just weird like that!). if you click the "Subject" button, it will order the threads alphabetically (one click = a-z, two clicks = z-a). The "Replies" button will order the threads based on how many comments they have (one click = least to greatest, two clicks = greatest to least). The "Last Reply" button gets kind of weird and doesn't always work, though, so i wouldn't rely on it.

hey annabelle!! nice 2 meet you, i'm th3mysticw0lf, or tmw / mystic for short. (u can also call me chiori or eph! both online nicknames :p) ive been on here since around 2020-ish 

honestly kyngdom is kind of confusing. i was superduper active under a psuedonym for a while, but it's kinda fizzled out-- but it's un-fizzling-out now, so i might see if i can join under another pseudonym :p 

i think ppl ahve already explained it pretty well though!! i suggest reading the guides, theyre super interesting haha 

as for aes: theyre basically different aspects of your personality! i think i still hold the record for the most aes at one time... which was a lot (like... over 10 i believe) and the most retired aes as well (definitely over 20) 

anyways, here are my current aes: meet mizu, miyetka, aster, and ophelia!
