Kind to Yourself
Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket
Kind to Yourself
Kind to Yourself
Okay, challenge: do at least one thing that's kind to yourself every day.
It doesn't have to be fancy. Getting enough sleep? Awesome. Drinking plenty of water? Fantastic. Reading a chapter of an old favorite book? I couldn't be more proud. Anything works - whatever makes you happy and feels good for your mind, your soul, and your body. Remember to give yourself love. It's good for you.
Post kind things you've done to yourself here. The more replies, the better.
I'll start. Today I was kind to myself by spending quality time with my family.

Ummm.. I mean, yesterday I was... kind to myself? Not kind to myself? Whaaa?? You decide. I stayed up very late reading the Priory of the Orange Tree, which I live by the way, which it made me SOOO ridiculously happy reading with a ginormous fantasy book on my lap and infinite possibilities layed out before me during that time of night no one else is awake... there's just no other feeling like it! But at the same time... horrible for my health. So?

Anyways, what I mean to say is I'm gonna do it again today. Because... all right let's do this scientifically (sorta)
Pros and Cons of reading The Priory of the Orange Tree tonight (if I'm not feeling too tired, I'm still gonna do it anyway though so... but when I do feel tired I do get in bed and sleep, fyi)
Pros:
-no short-term stress cause how can you stress while reading and lost and nothing else exists but the heft of the book and the turning of pages and the waiting possibilities of the night?
-makes me so very happy
-it takes me an hour and thirty pages to just read 70 pgs of the Priory!! Usually I can read at last 175 pgs in that time! And it's a library book! So finish faster and don't have to worry about when it's due
-can read my other library books faster and no stress about returning them in time/angering the librarian(s), whom I like quite a lot
-read more books in general
-bragging rights faster :)
Cons:
-I may or may not have a big midterm tomorrow? But I'm never gonna be prepared for it anyway cause I literally can't understand the teacher cause it's Chinese... and oddly I get less and less fluent as time goes on
-sleep loss. But that happens every night anyways. But MORE sleep loss.
-finish the Priory faster and can't read it anymore
and it seems like the pros outweigh the cons! Yay! :)
you still probably shouldn't do this though. I'm setting a very bad example here. But anyways this is an awesome idea thank you Peri!! :)

I was kind to myself when today and yesterday, while dressing up as two different Queen goddesses (Hera yesterday, Persephone today), I told myself I looked stunning. Because I did. I think. I mean, both days I worked hard to make the make-up look good. And yesterday, in my floor-length skirt-dress thing I will be wearing Tuesday night (ignoring my cuffed jeans underneath), and my peacock shirt I tied up with a hairband, and the silver high-heels, I did look very good.
I was also kind to myself when this weekend, I have been listening to TLT musical on repeat (and now I realize it was stupid of me to dislike the song Strong, b/c it ain't the bad) while drawing my charries, and also obessing over the Riordanverse and the TV show (like seriously, who cares that the trio may not look like how they're described in the books, the more I learn about them, the more I see/read about how they act, the more I'm convinced that they are their characters).
hopefully the kind things I did outweigh the mental breakdown I had, and how the doc where I write down the mental breakdowns (that was I can get them out someway) got significantly longer...

I was kind to myself today by buying new books and spending time with people I love! I'm going to keep being kind to myself by reading and then going to bed since I am tired and have school tomorrow :]
