Hi there!! I'm Wafflecat. I'm pretty new to the CB -- I've commented a few times, but never properly introduced myself. I love reading, dancing (especially hip hop and contemporary), and listening to music! I'm currently reading: [takes deep breath] the 7th Harry Potter book (for the first time!), the 13th Wings of Fire book (rereading -- I LOVE that series), Vessel by Sarah Beth Durst, and The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan. I have two cats who I love dearly -- who else has pets? I also want a dragon but think it wouldn't get along with my cats. (There's also the small problem of it being mythical). My pronouns are she/her. I'm excited to join the Chatterbox!!

Hi! Oh wow...that is...a lot of responses....FINALLY!! PEOPLE WHO LIKE THE SAME BOOKS AS ME!! Last year, the friends who I shared a bunch of classes with hadn't read like any of the books I'm obsessed with, so I've been desperately searching for people who read the same things. And the books you mentioned that I haven't hear of all have really good titles. After I finish writing this, I'm going to put holds on all of them at the library.

Periwinkle -- I'm so excited for 1989 (Taylor's Version)! I really like that album so I'm curious about the new songs.

Random question: when should you top a thread? After you post the first comment on a thread, or after the first comment appears on a thread you created?

Good question! You should only top a thread after the first comment has appeared, or else it won't work.

Hello Wafflecat! I never have never introduced myself, but you could say that I LOVE birds. I like listening to music, but not the kinds you like :( (classical and traditional and modern Greek). I am reading the second book of Harry Potter, and finished the third wings of fire book a year ago. The Dollhouse by Charis Cotter is a good book if you like horror. But I would have to say I kind of like nonfiction better, The Hawk's Way by Sy Montgomery is the best!! Ooh I always wanted a pet, a Great Pyrenees, my neighbor has one and it is the most adorable thing on the plant. Prove me wrong. My pronouns are she/her too. Oh, and I love chess and practice everyday.

*GASPP*

I have a Great Pyrenees mix (well, had. He lived to be 14, outliving most of his kind and he's older than me! And was my parents' first child!) and he's the cutest, sweetest, most loving, and most humongous thing ever!! Great choice!! And he used to shed EVERYWHERE, which some ppl don't like, but his fur was like the softest thickest thing ever and you would find it in the most random places like a gift! And he LOVED attention!! He would follow us around asking for hugs and sleep with us in the beds and never knew how big he was (truly ginormous) and would try to squeeze himself into the smallest spaces! Plus, he was so patient and just amazing as a family dog (my brother and I used to tug on his ears and tail and perform "surgery" on him and he'd just let us (however, when we tried to ride him, he was just like, nope, and moved away... he's never ever bitten anyone ever tho!)) and a great guard dog too and the best!! And... well, my point is PLEASE DEFINITELY TRY TO GET A PYR OR A MIX BC THEY'RE AMAZING AND IF YOU DO PLS ADOPT A RESCUE BC IT'S SO MUCH BETTER AND YOU'RE SAVING LIVES PROBABLY AND YESS!!! Sorry... I'm just rly rly excited. As you can see.
btw, sorry, I never responded to the Hawk's Way thing you said on the book rec thing (if you remember), I'm still trying to find it at the library (going again today so hopefully it's there now!), BUT I'm reading The Soul of an Octopus right now and YOU HAVE TO READ IT IT'S NOW ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS EVERY I THINK YOU WOULD LIKE IT!!! And after that I'm gonna read the Good, good pig.

I STILL can't find the Hawk's Way but read a preview and it's REALLY good!! I can tell why you like it, the first sentence is literally "Inches from my face, I hold a living dinosaur" :) and @admin (tho idk if this is the same one), YES PYRS RULE!! I have an Anatolian Pyr mix, but I looked up Pittie Pyrs, and they're so cute!!

Yes, when I read that sentence I knew that book was for me! Also I am Peregrine Falcon not to be confused with Peregrine (another CBer) If you can't fit my full name just put Peregrine F, I really don't want any confusion going around!
