okay - The Taken Girl, by Elizabeth Gray Vining. It's beautifully written and has very appealing characters, as well as being really authentic for historical fiction.
And Time at the Top, by Edward Ormondroyd, is splendid. it's fantasy, and has wonderful characters, glints of humor, and an exciting plot, as well as amazing writing. I'll elaborate more later once the chat is over :)

wEll, one book rec is How Do You Live? By Genzaburo Yoshino, another is A Boy CAlled Bat by Elana K. Arnold. I liked both.

Actually, there's a book I've been reading you may find interesting! I haven't finished it yet, but it's called Braiding Sweetgrass For Young Adults: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer. It's hard to explain what it's about, but I will tell you it's simply beautiful and explores a lot of ideas I'd never even thought of before reading it.
