Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Guide to the

Guide to the CB

Common terms:

Admin: Short for administrator. There are three of them, and they run CB, making sure that comments are appropriate before posting them.

CB: Short for Chatterbox. This place.

CBer: Short for Chatterboxer. Any person who regularly, or at least multiple times, posts on CB is a CBer.

Ski Lodge: Basically a murder mystery thread. I have advocated against these being allowed, but the Admins make sure it is nothing too gory.

Impersonate: pretend to be another CBer. It is NOT cool, and don't do it. It may sound fun, but the long-term effects and the short-term effects are terrible, especially if people see your post. I think people do this to insult the CBer, getting past the guidelines of the Admins.

RP: Roleplay. I'm not sure what it is. What I know is that people write scenes for a roleplay of different characters.

SI: Secret Identity. A game where people post under different names and people try to guess the name of the CBer.

Chatterbox Rancor: A virtual beast invented by Shoshannah Lily to explain why some threads just don't post, even following the strictest CB rules.

Rules.

In short,

1. Be nice.

2. Do not post innapropriate content. In short, everything you post must be appropriate for a sensitive nine-year-old.

3. Do not post in other languages or secret codes. This is because the Admins don't have time to check that the translation to English is appropriate. See rule 2.

4. Do not post other links to the site. This is because Admins do not moderate those sites and cannot control the appropriateness of viewing that site. See rule 2.

5. Enjoy exploring the Chatterbox.

History:

AE war: There was a bunch of AEs, but so many people didn't have AEs and felt left out. They argued that AEs take away more than they add to it. It was resolved with AEs only being allowed on certain threads.

Example of AE war: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/downtoearth/node/162424

Admins, when you get it, if this is not already linked, please link it.

Nostalgia war: There once were three groups of CBers: oldies (ones who had been around since the beginning): middlies (ones who joined in the middle of history), and newbies (ones who have just joined). When the newbies were joining, the oldies didn't like how the CB was changing, so they left. The middlies were more focused on mourning the vanished CBers than welcoming the new ones. The newbies were offended by this. At the end, it was resolved when some of the oldies came back.

First four comments are an example.

Impersonator war: People were impersonating a bunch of other people, including impersonating two people, A and B, and blaming B for the impersonation of A in B's impersonationn.

Please add to this dictionary if I missed anything.

I kind of want to abolish ski-lodges too... YES I KNOW I wrote one myself, but it wasn't one where everybody died. I love the idea of writing stories with CBers as characters, though. Maybe we should have more solo writes like that, like the Middle Earth Solo Write by Gandalf.

Adding to History:
The Zoodle War: ONGOING When Zoodle snakes started appearing in Last to post, and spread to Down to Earth, many were upset. They formed the Anti-Zoodlers. The ones who wanted to protect these species formed the Pro-Zoodlers, or Zoodlers for short. This led to a conflict on two main threads, where sieges were launched on each other's threads and people had to fight for the Zoodles and build all kinds of new weapons and technology. These are the links to the two main battlefields of the Zoodle War:
