AE Building Station!

AE Building Station!

So I saw someone ask how to make AEs, and that made me realize that it might be fun to have a thread on the CB where you can go for help making and developing AEs if you are someone who wants to create AEs of your own but isn't sure where to start.

If you want help making an AE, just say what part of your personality you're looking to represent, and if you have any ideas so far. I'll help you come up with a name, pronouns, likes, dislikes - whatever you want! I'll give a few suggestions, and if you like any, you can pick and choose what you might want to use for your AE, or at least get started making one. No pressure to use the ideas I give you if you don't like them, of course, I'm just here to help get those creative juices flowing (that sounded weird).

If you have AEs already and would like to give other people ideas, feel free to give them suggestions, too! Hope to see some people at the AE Buidling Station soon :)

Hi, I have kind of been wanting to make an AE, but I need more ideas. Here is what I have so far, want their personality to be really outgoing and friendly. bad at keeping secrets, exited about everything.

Likes: Cupcakes, dying their hair, baby animals

Dislikes: Sitting still for a long time, rude people, black licorice

Any ideas?

Sure, here's a few ideas:

Names: Pixie, Vix, Blair, Lonnie, Coral (Corrie as a nickname, maybe)

Pronouns: we have a lot of female energetic AEs, which is fine if you want to make one too, but maybe for originality you might try and enby or a male - whatever you like, of course, just pointing it out.

Age: I'd recommend using an age between 11 and 16 for this one, maybe 14 or 15, unless you'd like them to be ageless.

Appearance: you said they like dying their hair. Maybe it's a bright color, like pink or yellow? And maybe they enjoy dressing in eye catching clothing. A lot of our energetic AEs are also usually on the shorter side, which, again, is fine if you'd like yours to be too, but it might be interesting to have one who's tall.

Some more likes and hobbies you could try:

Exploring, the outdoors, making jewelry, drawing and/or coloring pictures, photography, practical jokes, stickers, dad jokes

And a few potential dislikes:

Scary stories and other horror-related things, the color gray, thunderstorms, liars, pointless stories

Hope that gave you some inspiration!

I need help with this AE.

She/her.

Likes: Musicals, dyed hair, donuts and kareoke.

Dislikes: Spinach, birds, horses and fireworks.

I already know her name is Clemintine, Clem for short.

Clem sounds cool! Maybe try giving her a few weaknesses and character flaws? Like, maybe she loves musicals, but has stage fright or something.

Okay, here's the deal.  I really enjoy making characters, so I always have ideas of new AEs.  Seriously, I think I've had around 4 different groups of AEs now. But I don't want to have to many, or have them be too similar to each other.  Any advice???

I've had this problem too! I think what you really want to do is remember that AEs are supposed to be like people, and people can have a lot of different pieces of them. Your most artistic AE, for example, doesn't only have to be artistic, maybe they're really outgoing or shy. When you get a new idea for an AE, first see if their traits can be added to an already existing AE and help develop them.

Question: Do OCs end up becoming AEs? I think I'm going to end up creating some AEs soon, so I'd like to know this.

@Periwinkle thanks for the ideas!

AEs are supposed to be characters that represent different sides of your personality, like a shyer side of you, a moodier side, a creative side, so they're not necessarily OCs.

I'm trying to think of a name for an AE matching this description:

age: 11

personality: loud, friendly but not above snappy comebacks, bold

likes: standing up for what's right, cooking

dislikes: mean people, drought

pronouns: she/her

The first thing that comes to my mind is Scarlet, or maybe Holly.

I have a few loose ideas, if anyone has suggestions for refining them.

Pronous: They/them (or possibly genderfluid)

Habits: staring, conversations coming out rude, scowling

Chin length blue hair? What shade?

Athlete or artist? Both?

Age range: 12-16. Any thoughts?

Skills....

I feel like it's hyper blue hair, they're 15, and an athlete, especially good at running and rock climbing. I also feel like they wear their hair back in a low ponytail often, and have olive skin, and have a resting angry face.
