It's a truth universally acknowledged that life can kinda suck. Especially nowadays, what with Covid, climate change, the Russian-Ukrainian war, and all the other problems humanity is struggling with, it's horribly easy to get lost in the darker sides of humanity, and forget about the light. So let's not forget. Let's remind each other of all the beautiful, whimsical, goofy, adorable, sparkly, touching, hilarious, extraordinary parts of life.
Post random fun facts. Post cute pictures of your pets. Post artwork you've made. Post the fantabulous grade you got on that math test. Post what the sunset looked like last night. Post something, anything, that makes you smile.
So when we can't see the light for the darkness, we'll make our own. We'll set the shadows alight with moonlight and sunrises and candle flames and fireflies.
Together.

Yeah, I think Tui sometimes forgets to edit out bits and pieces of the human realm. For example, she mentions ice cream twice in book 14 (the first time is in a simile, but the second is Snowfall telling Mink that they should go get ice cream), which begs the question: How does one milk a cow with talons?

Also, @Snazzycakes, I like it how Tui Sutherland has those little bits of human life in the dragons. It makes it more... relatable, I guess? It's fun. Also, why shouldn't dragons have ice cream, right? I mean, ice cream is spindiddly, so..... :)

I have a sleepover tomorrow! It's small, just me and two other friends, but I'm so excited! Both of them are such great people, and I am looking forward to getting a chance to have some time just to us, without the stress of school and other people and...it's just gonna be awesome. I can't wait! By the way, any good movie recommendations for peeps in their early teens?

Hmm, it depends on what genres you're into, but I'd suggest (not in this order):
- How to Train Your Dragon
- Encanto (you've probably seen it, but I can't help but mention it anyway)
- Rio (kinda cheesy, but I like it anyway)
- The Chronicles of Narnia (It's kinda racist and sexist, but not in a pushing-an-agenda kind of way; it's because of when the books were written and the movie was made)
- Peter Rabbit (the humor is very british and pretty slapstick, but it's still pretty good)
Also, if you're cool with binging a show instead of watching a movie, The Mysterious Benedict Society is so hecking good. Also The Owl House, but it's longer, so you probably wouldn't be able to finish it.
