Em, I totally get how you feel because I had to move when I was 13 as well. I lived in California for my whole life, but then my family had to move to Hong Kong because of my dad's job. I was so mad and upset for months, and I ended up wasting so much of my time just being angry.

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to convince your parents, and I tried EVERYTHING. I cried hysterically, I refused to go to school, and I even I made a terrible school application so I wouldn't get into the school in Hong Kong. I just want to tell you that although it seems like the end of the world (and it will be really tough) you will get through it and you're going to learn so much from it. It wasn't what I wanted at all, but my dad got to have his dream job and my brother really loved it. And it took me a REALLY long time to realize that. For the first year I just tried to be as angry and sad as possible to make my parents suffer (but really it just hurt me the most)

I still kept most of my friends from California, even though the time zones were all off and I hadn't been able to see them in years. If you're able to drive to see them (or maybe meet them halfway) that's great! Good friends will stay with you and you'll make amazing new friends too.
