At this point, there's probably a bunch of new CBers who have never even heard of a Luminescence, so I'll introduce myself.
Hi, I'm Lumi, resident poet, reader of fanfiction, and embodiment of the term 'socially awkward'. I use she/her pronouns, by the way.
Moving on! The real reason I'm making this post is that I think I owe y'all a bit of an explanation for pretty much dropping off the face of the earth when summer started.
first of all, I am sO sOrRy aHhHhh
I truly did not plan that. Summer got busy. AO3 invaded my brain. The Track series is really good. The libraries are actually a Thing we can Do now. Butterfly stroke is a form of torture. (no, not really, but it's truly exhausting.) Y'know, the usual :,)
Second of all, I'm afraid I'm probably going to be pretty nonexistent until the end of the summer. I'm going to a sleepaway camp which = no screens and no internet and then a roadtrip which again- few screens and terrible internet.
Thirdly, HI, friends! I'll be here until Sunday and I'll make an effort to actually check this thread and reply to any comments.

the funny thing is I was basically coming here to say the exact same thing! I'm even leaving on the same day as you?? it would be pretty wack if we were going to the same camp, but probably not.
also YESSS I am rediscovering the miracle of libraries as well :0

I know; I took swimmin' lessons before Covid.

Lumi! Hi! I also have a lot on my plate for the summer so I'm not around as much (read: pretty much never). Thank goodness I came on here just now! Anyway, the camp and roadtrip sound fun. And yesss, we can finally go to libraries!

It's great to see you again, even if it's been a long time. I probably won't be available with devices or Internet for the rest of the summer either, so I understand your plight! *sobs* (It feels like this summer has been really unprogressive, but eh....)
Hopefully we can use this time to recharge ourselves! :P

LUMIIIIIIIIIII. I completely understand, ao3 is a time sucker that makes 5 hours feel like five minutes. I've also been basically nonexistent on here, I just stopped by as an attempt to take my mind off the fact that One Direction is 11 years old today.

There's no need to apologize -- It's fine if there are things you need to do besides the Chatterbox. Haha, I think I've been a bit less active lately, too, not sure why.

Hi Lumi!!! Sorry this is wayyy too late but here I am! I agree with you in that fanfiction can absolutley dominate every free moment of your life. Also, I depsise the butterfly stroke. I've missed seeing you around here but I hope you have a great remainder of the summer and I'll hopefully see you soon!

Hi Lumi!! I know, summer is crazy. I've also disappeared off this plane of existence for an eternity. AO3 has also infested my brain. Why is it that I've only read a couple chapters of my summer reading books but I can read a 120k word fanfic in a day??? My brain needs to get it together. I hope you have a great time at camp!! I'm always glad to see you. <3

This is late because I dropped off the face of the earth just before you returned. And you won't see this now. But I missed you! Your sweetness, cheerfulness, creativity, empathy, and wonderful advice is crazily wonderful, and you are such an important part of the CB for me (and I think most other CBers.) I hope you have a wonderful, fun, relazing summer. You deserve it! Can't wait to talk to you again when you get back. <3
