SUGGESTIONS!!!!
SUGGESTIONS!!!!
So, when Ripley visits, I want to build a literal KINGDOM in Minecraft with her! It's gonna have a village, and a castle, and traps, and a dungeon, and a village center, and more!
So, this is where you can put YOUR suggestions to put in the kingdom, what kind of castle we should build, how big it should be, what roms it should have, and what blocks to use! We'll use EVERYONE'S SUGGESTIONS!!

When it comes to Minecraft and me, the answer is almost always diamonds. However, with the new update, I would say that my favorite block is now tied with amethyst. You should build your entire castle (or at least a room or two) out of diamond and amethyst.
For types of rooms, I will say that the largest room should be a dining hall with tables that are at least twenty blocks long. Ooh, and of course you'll need a library. And maybe a schoolroom? Those are always fun to build.
Also, you should have an inn in your kingdom. Inns are the best.

I personally love the new deepslate blocks, and stone bricks are always a win with me. Also dark oak and acacia planks. I think you should build like a greenhouse with all the (very pretty!) plants in it! Also, did you know there's a new invisible block like the barrier? It's called light and it's exactly what it sounds like! It's invisible if you're not holding the block in your hand, and you can walk through it. A great alternative to torches since you can't see it :) Oh! You could also have a stable/farm area with horses, donkeys, mules, llamas, pigs, sheep... you get the idea. That's all I have for now!

WHOA THAT LIGHT BLOCK SOUNDS AWESOME!!!!!!!!
Torches are SUPER ANNOYIN', 'cause if you make a build that's WAY more than, like, 4 blocks long, then they won't work, and lanterns are 100%, TOTALLY ANNOYIN', 'cause if you build your ceiling less than 6 lbocks high, then go in second person mode, the camera will, like, bounce from the space between the lanterns in the ceiling, to the lanterns over, and over, and OVER again!
But the light block... THAT SOUNDS AWESOME!!!!!!!
Now I just gotta figure out how the get all the updates on my Nintendo, 'cause it STILL has the noob-lookin' glass, which is the old way glass used to look before the 1.14 update.
It makes my eyes HURT just lookin' at that kind of glass!!!!!!!

Hi! I've been good, sorry I didn't respond to you on your returning thread, I forgot about the CB for a couple of days and by the time I came back, the thread was on the second page.
How about you? Is your school out yet?
Also @Em: If you're building a whole world with Ripley, I'd suggest doing some world building and make a sort of culture for your world and stuff, it makes the whole universe so much more real, and it's a lot of fun.

I'm good! I'm homeschooled so we're going through the summer and then I'm going to public high school in the fall :) I'm a little apprehensive but kinda excited too! How's Abcde? »Hi Abcde! I missed you! Dolphin decide to disappear without a trace *cough cough* so I didn't get to say goodbye. Hope you're doing well!« also! World building is great! On one of my creative worlds I'm building a giant castle. There's a village nearby so I am the evil overlord of the village mwahahaha. *awkward silence* aNyWaY. Read you around!!
+Dolphin+
Vixen says bawgh. Bog? As in the Girl Who Drank the Moon bog? Hm.

Oh, that's really cool! Good luck at public school!
Hi-hi, Shaow. I've missed you too, and Morning disappeared too, so I haven't gotten to do ANYTHING in FORVEVER. Um... I started a garden. With carnations. What have you been doing?
(June 17, 2021 - 5:22 pm)
»That garden sounds beautiful! Carnations are the best flower, better than roses because they last longer. I haven't done much... lots of reading. I'm particularly enjoying 'The Hound of the Baskervilles'. I believe Dolphin's going to host an AE/Captcha Ball for the summer solstice, shall we continue our conversation there?«
(June 19, 2021 - 9:28 am)
Yes, that sounds delightful! I'm sure the Minecraft people are quite annoyed that we are monopolizing Em's suggestions thread, although of course, any thread would be lucky to host such a wonderful person as myself. Um... you know, it was only a little more than a year ago that we met at one of Dolphin's other summer parties. Isn't that a fun coincidence? *blushes*

One thing you should always have.
An underground base.
I would recommend finding either a cave or a sand pit sort of thing, build a ceiling of sandstone, chiseled stone bricks, and blackstone over that, make an enchanting room and everything in it.
It looks really amazing.
Then, line the bottom of the walls that touch the floor with glowstone or something.
Beautiful.
Also for the dining hall, if it's overground, make it have a red vibe.
Lava columns, just put lava in glass columns.
Dark oak tables and dark oak chairs.
Gold and dark oak thrones with red carpet.
Also, make a fountain.
With lapis and gold and emerald blocks.
And stone.
:) tell me if you need anymore ideas!

Ok, aesthetic Minecraft builds are my thing, so here’s my advice!
-If you’re going for a fantasy vibe, use shroomlights and lanterns. If you’re going for sci-fi, use sea lanterns and beacons.
-Mix up the blocks you’re using. Like, if you’re building a stone wall, you could use a combination of cobblestone, smooth stone, and mossy cobblestone. You could also mix in andesite if you’re going for a ruined look.
-If you want vines but you want them to be more prominent, try using leaf blocks instead. Vines can be used to make blocks look more interesting, though.
-Azaleas look really good. That’s— that’s it. They’re just really cool. This isn’t even a tip.
-Different rotations of stairs can be used for lots of decoration purposes.
-One thing stairs shouldn’t be used for is chairs. Use scaffolding for stools, and slabs with doors or trapdoors behind them for chairs. Doors can be used for tall chair backs, like thrones.
-If you want a cool-looking bed, use trapdoors to make a headboard and footboard. You can also build up the headboard with wood blocks and stairs!
-Crystalssssssss
-Make your trees more interesting! If you’re using a tree to decorate a garden, for example, add more blocks to the trunk and maybe make the tree bend. It looks cool.
-Put lilypads on your ponds.
-If you want to fill a pool or bathtub automatically, you can use dispensers with water buckets in them, redstone dust, and levers. This has been really useful to me.
That’s all I’ve got for now. Let me know if you want any more tips!

Oh and one more thing: if you’re going to make an underground base, put in a skylight! It makes everything look nicer, and also gives off natural light. Unless you’re like, super super far underground. Or! an underwater base!! That would be super cool. Also, glowstone is ugly. Unless you have rtx graphics, in which case nothing looks ugly so you can disregard all of my aesthetic tips.

Make a command center in the castle with lots of maps and a table in the middle and a cake on the table and chests full of cookies. Ooh, and maybe some buttons that activate traps around the castle - TNT, pits, lava, all the rest of it.
And definitely an underground base.
Secret passages everywhere.
A zoo?
Lots of cats.
Llamas.
(June 18, 2021 - 12:33 pm)
*whispers* Did I hear "llamas"???

Secret passages and a library are my biggest recommendations!! Morning mentioned lore, and there's no better place to write down lore than in books! Apparently there are a couple ways to make bookshelves that hold books, but they're all too complex for my liking. A couple of lecterns would work just fine as well. Maybe it'd be a good spot for an enchanting table too.
I'm sure that you know how to hide a secret passage behind a painting (the trick is attaching the actual painting to open gates), but it's so much fun that I just had to recommend it.
Oh, and tall windows. I love tall windows.
Best of luck, Em <3 Give us some pictures when you've finished!
