I'm new here! Nice to meet all of you. CB is great so far! I look forward to seeing all that it has to offer. Anyway, I am kinda (very) confused on a few topics.
1. Ski Lodges (How do I make one? How can you navigate the endless amount of responses?)
2. AEs, CAPTCHAs, and CAPTCHAEs (What are they?)
3. Basically everything else that is obscure (AKA the entire CB - it is very confusing for somebody new like me.)

Seriously though, AE stands for alter ego. (as in different personalities) They're basically Characters made of the shattered pices of your mind!

Hello! I'm Quill, it's great to meet you, welcome to the CB! I like your name. Don't worry, it can be kind of confusing at first, but you figure it out quickly, and we're all here to answer any questions (which I'll do now).
1. Ski Lodges are murder mysteries written by a CBer, usually under an alias. To make one, you pretty much just need an idea! You make a thread (most ski lodges go on Pudding's Place), and write an introduction. Most are in second person and involve getting some kind of invitation. That includes a description of the "vacation" and a character sheet for people to fill out. Other CBers will join the ski lodge, and you pick one of them to be the murderer. Then you write a murder mystery with the CBers as characters, and they have to figure out which one is the murderer. I'll link some good ones in a reply to this comment so you can get an idea of what they're like!
2. AEs are basically original characters created by CBers that represent parts of ourselves. AE stands for alter ego (other self in Latin). They speak in different fonts, and they can join ski lodges, attend parties and balls, and just hang out! Mine are Harper, Ace, and Bean.

CAPTCHAs are the little boxes at the bottom of posts where you type in the letters. Here on the CB, we like to personify them and make them into pets! Similar to AEs, but they tend to be younger, usually some sort of animal (though they don't have to be, you can be as creative as you want), and they usually talk in four or five letters. My CAPTCHA is Basil, a blue budgie! So she speaks like this: helo, iamm basl!

Heyo, another newish CBer here, just wondering, the whole logic of ski lodges seems kinds wack. Like, the CBers go and they know that one of them or more is gonna die but the go anyway and they still act all surprised and stuff when there's death?? Do they just kinda forget as a part of the magic of the ski lodges, so they think it's just a vacation? And why does the murderer murder? Are they just suddenly posessed by the urge to kill? Do they have to have a reasonable motive for killing? How should they be resolved; for example, when do people get sent home and what happends to the murderer and do you just go until everyone is dead???
Okay sorry for swamping y'all with questions. I might want to make a ski lodge so I need to know the specifics and I'm posting this anoynomously because if I used my CBer name and another ski lodge shows up a few days later, you'd know it was me XD

That's all up to you! In most ski lodges, the CBers think it's just a vacation, so they are surprised when there's a murderer. The murderer's motivation is up to you, as is the resolution! You have full creative liscence!
That all being said, if you want finite answers to those questions, Micearnice and Luna-Starr have created a force called the Mystery, which pretty much answers everything you pointed out! If you want to read about it, I'd recommend the Farm Story (which doesn't go into the Mystery but is the start of it all, and just a great ski lodge), Lake Lelillo, and the Magicae Palace!
I have no idea if those will link, but if not, you can find all three by clicking "replies" twice on Pudding's Place. They're by Farmer's Assistant, Your Chaperones, and Simul Stoicheio. They're all fascinating and enjoyable to read, and give a great insight to the mysterious inner workings of ski lodges!

Oooh, so basically the Mystery chooses one of the cbers/aes/captchas to be the murderer and only the murderer knows that the deaths aren't real and that it's just a ski lodge. The murderer might feel guilty or something like that but the Mystery controls them and makes them do it anyway, but in a ski lodge you don't nescesarily have to use the Mystery; the Mystery is just one interpretive explanation. Okay, that makes sense. I'm going in reverse order, I've read magicae palace and im halfway through lake lelillo, they're super riveting, thanks Quill for linking those for me!

Hey so uh Quill answered all the questions but I'll go into detail a little more, I pay alot of attention to detail.
So, they are technically not knowing in what I call 'The World of Ski Lodges', and basically they just submit a form, and the author writes it! Their CB persona does not know, all they know is what the author has included in the introduction, the letter thingamabob, when they're writing under the alias. The CB persona also knows that it is a vacation, but not a ski lodge.
the Mystery is what Micearenice invented, I believe, introduced in The Farm Story, and continued in Lake Lellilo and Magicae Palace.
The Mystery is a mystery, the beginning of all ski lodges. It's what forces the murderer to murder, an unknown force. Perhaps in The Callumial Mansion I shall include it. It is up to me :).

Yo, whalecome to the CB!
1. Basically a solo write where you're encouraged to kill off people. It's basically mafia but less democratic–you control the entire story. And you use an anonymous identity while writing and people can guess you.
2. AES: alter egos, different representations of yourself, like personas. CAPTCHAS: pets that can only speak in words five letters long. CAPTCHAES: the two combined.
