Um I'm a noob here cuz I just joined 3 weeks ago so can someone explain what AE's and Captcha's are? I see them all over down to earth.

Now to business -- a CAPTCHA is a device used to prevent spam and bots from flooding the Chatterbox with messages. (It's the five letters you submit whenever you post.) Most CBers treat them as characters. CAPTCHAs are often animals. For example, I have Lucinda. She's a dust bunny.

Most CAPTCHAs speak in italics or in between a symbol like parentheses or brackets.

Got all that? Yes? No? Good! Let's keep going.

Now, an AE is a part of a CBer's personality that becomes its own being. They're often human, and they're famous for their parties and various adventures. AEs often speak in bold, italics, or both. Here's my AE, Orson.

Anyways, yes, that was a great explanation. One thing to add is that CAPTCHAs often only speak in 5 letter increments (I think I used that word right?). For instance, my CAPTCHA, Kiwi (who is a sugar glider with an intense dislike for flying squirrels for no reason I can fathom) would speak like this:

BOWWW DOWNN LOWLY FLYIN SQRLS!!! IBIAN IWILL TAKEE OVERR THEEE UNVRS!!! AHHHH HHHHH!!!!

Ooookay then, maybe Ibi will have something nicer to say. Ibi is Nightfall's CAPTCHA who I am currently adopting, as they will be leaving, sadly-

I asked the same when I joined haha, CAPTCHAs are kind of confusing. My understanding is this: You have a pet, usually with a 5 letter name, that says whatever the CAPTCHA box says.
