I've been here at the Chatterbox for a few months now. Actually, it's been over a quarter of a year. And for that time, I have been known as PygmyOwl. But I'm starting to think about changing my name. After some consideration, I have decided on RiverMyst (or maybe just RiverMist). But I am also rather attached to PygmyOwl. So, although I know it will be ultimatly my decision, I wanted some input.
Does anyone have advice? Keep PygmyOwl or change it? And if I do change it, should I choose RiverMyst or RiverMist? Thanks for your help!

Ooh, RiverMyst sounds cool! I'm all into substituting letters for less commonly used ones, especially when making up names :)

I love the name PygmyOwl. Though I also like RiverMist. There are some people who go by two names on Chatterbox. That’s always an option, though it could get confusing.

Rivermist is really pretty. But I like PygmyOwl too.
If you do change it though, would you like me to use your new name instead of your old one for the written picturing?

RiverMyst is a great name, tbh, though PygmyOwl is also nice. Personally, I would change it to RiverMyst. Up to you, of course.

You can be PygmyOwl in some places and RiverMist in others- for example, RiverMist in Inkwell and PP, but Pygmy Owl everywhere else.

I like both! But I’d probably go with RiverMyst, instead of RiverMist. And I agree with Luna-Starr in that you could be PygmyOwl some places and RiverMyst others.

RiverMyst is really pretty! I have been posting as both Jwyn and Indigo Feather (Indigo Feather mostly for PP and Inkwell), and I know cerinthe used to be known as both Spiffycat and Jithkeeper. If you aren't sure, I think doing that will help you decide which you like best, or if you want to keep both. Also, if you do decide to do that, I would suggest RiverMyst with a "y". PygmyOwl also has "y" as a main vowel, and that could help people remember you're the same person. Any way you do it both PygmyOwl and RiverM(y/i)st are beautiful names!

Okay. I have come to my descision. I am changing my name to RiverMyst. However, Don't be suprised to see PygmyOwl floating around as well, because that will be my pen name. Meaning, I will sign my art and writing as PygmyOwl, but other than that, I'm RiverMyst. Unless I forget. I am also going to keep PygmyOwl on YWP, for a while at least, because I really do love that name.
Thanks to all of you for your help. This was a tough descision. I also might at anytime chang to RiverMist, Rivermist, or Rivermyst, but that won't need an announcement.

I have now been RiverMyst for less than a day. But that has been long enough for me to realize how much I love my name. My name is PygmyOwl, and it is going to stay that way. I apologize to all of you for dragging you into my little identity crisis. It is now over now, and I can go back to normal. :)
Oh, and Joan B. of Arc, I would like for my name to be PygmyOwl in my written picturing. Thanks so much!
