Hi everyone! It's
Hi everyone! It's been a really long time since I was on here. I doubt any of you know who I am. I started posting on here maybe 10 (??) years ago. My older sister used to post on here too; she used the name Melody!
I think I posted something similar to this a few years ago, but it's honestly a blur. I was doing homework today and decided to procrastinate by looking on here for old things I posted on. Man, I was cringey! I literally just spent soooo long trying to find a certain RP I loved writing and reading, and I finally found it. I felt so old clicking through the pages, seeing the names of people I haven't communicated with in years.
So I'm in college now! I'm a freshman, but I I'm technically a first-semester sophomore due to AP credits and everything. My major is History, but I think I may also minor in creative writing! I also have a full-ride scholarship, which is insane. I feel so blessed. Melody's in her last year of college! We're getting so old; it's insane.
I feel like I should say something meaningful, since I'm from an older generation of CB'ers and am turning 19 in a few weeks (wow). My one meaningful thing to say that came to me when looking through my old posts is that some things change but others don't change as you grow older. My grammar and writing style is obviously better (looking at my old posts was a major yikes), but other things haven't changed. I still love theatre, writing, Nancy Drew computer games, and magical fairytale things. I feel like a lot of you are much younger than I on here (I'm sorry if I'm wrong! I didn't really look at the new posts), and you may be nervous about the future, like if you'll change or not. I know I was. But what I've learned is that the things that need to change will change over time (like my grammar. Now I'm CRAZY about grammar), but the core things that make you you won't. My interests and personality are still the same, and I have found people who love me for it. Idk if this makes sense or helps anyone, but I was just feeling old and wanted to say something lol. Maybe I'll stick around for a bit. If you guys want to say anything, let me know!
I gotta go to sleep. It's past midnight, and I have class tomorrow. #collegelife

Wow-hi!! I remember you from when I was 12 and just barely posting, (or at least I saw you around on the CB.) :)
Your post here helped me a little-I'm always scared of change and worried that I'm going to have to 'grow up' and be someone completely new, someone I don't even know, someone who isn't energetic, or bouncy, or loves to laugh, etc.
I'm turning 18 in June, so potentially I could be going to college soon, and I'm a little nervous for that... so it's cool to see that college is going well for you so far. :)
Out of curiosity, though, what is college life like for you? I mean, I know you mentioned a few of what it is like, but I kind of want to hear more, since I potentially could go to college like, next year. What are you studying? Is it diferent than what you potentially wanted to do when you were younger? What are some tips you would suggest for people thinking about college, or something like that?
Sorry for all the questions... *sheepish grin*
Anyways. It's good to see you for a bit, and cool to see that college life and life in general seems to be going pretty well for you. :)

Hi! It's so nice to meet you!!
I'm so happy this helped you a bit! College life is good! The first semester was extremely hard, like much harder than I thought it would be. But, I slowly got the hang of things and made friends through theatre. Now it's the second week of my second semester, and I'm already loving it a lot more! I feel confident in myself, which I really wasn't last semester, and I made great friends I can be my loud, crazy self with. So don't worry too too much about having to change; some things about me have matured, but my crazy, loud, laughter-filled personality is still the same! It was hard for that personality to come out last semester, but it's here now! It will come out with time, trust me And if your first semester ends up being as terrible as mine was in the first weeks and months, it DOES get better! People will tell you it will, and you'll be questioning that, but I really had a horrible first few weeks and now am feeling 100% better!
So I'm studying history! I guess it's kinda different from what I wanted to do when I was younger, but not really. I always had hopes of being in theatre, but then I realized how hard that is and that it's something I'd rather do for fun than for a career. My friend's mom actually pointed out to me that I should major in history when I was 16, and she was so right! I've always loved history passionately, and it's honestly no surprise it's what I'm majoring in. Plus, I'm probably going to minor in creative writing, which is also something I've always loved. I think I'm going to end up going for a master's in library science once I graduate, as I work as an intern at the public services desk at the library in my hometown. A history degree is really helpful for that, and I've honestly always loved the library and dreamed of becoming a librarian! So it's not exactly what I first thought I would do, but then I realized it's what I wanted to do all along, if that makes sense!
I totally recommend you find a college you feel can be your home. My college is mainly all brick buildings, and it reminds me of my hometown, and it helps me feel at home. Also join clubs that interest you! That really helps you feel like yourself as well as make friends. If your college has a counseling center, definitely go there if you need help! I've been going to mine since I got to school, and my counselor has really helped me adjust to school as well as help me with the anxiety I've had my whole life. And finally, be confident in yourself! It may seem hard, but you can do it!!

Hi! I used to go by Leafpool and I've been around for four-ish years now but I don't think you know me. I've seen some of your old posts though! I remember Melody too.
It's so cool that so many CBers are in college now or, like BHR, married (????????). We just all keep getting older (kind of depressing though...haha)
Anyways thanks for visiting! I hope college goes well for you, and thank you for the advice about change.
