You may have noticed that I have taken quite a long break from the CB recently. I have been extremely busy, but no matter what I will always manage to come back at some point and find time for the CB.
I just wanted to say that there is no other community like the chatterbox. You inspire me on a daily basis and you are all amazingly talented and special, diverse people who will one day go on to do great things.
As I haven't been active for a while, I would like to introduce myself to any new CBers. My name is Coroline, and I love sports, particularly soccer and athletics, singing, dancing and the environment. Nice to meet you!

Age: Younger than most people on here
Hobbies: I like to draw, read, write, play video games (Mirror's Edge: Catalyst and Destiny 2 are my faves), create random characters, watch movies (I like Star Wars and Marvel movies), edit films and post on Chatterbox.

Hullo! My name is Micearenice! You can pronounce it any way you like, but if you want to know what it really says...it's Mice-are-nice. I'm sixteen years old now, but I joined the CB when I was 12.
I have lots of random hobbies--from entomology and herpetology to raising chickens and planning businesses that never quite become reality; from writing novels and short stories to working on the website I got for my birthday...I also love making videos (*high fives Alizarine*), researching any topic that catches my fancy, drawing and painting (mostly dragons), and keeping/caring for my animals, of which I have many.
I pick up nice quotes constantly, but I forget them if I don't write them down. Unfortunately, I forgot my last favorite quote.
My favorite color is green. I love being out in nature, and I love the appearance of green leaves with the sun shining through them. (The picture below is of part of my backyard.)
My favorite words are 'grouper' (as in, the fish) and 'flush' (as in, 'screw the pieces together until they are flush' or 'a flush of embarrassment rose to her face'). Both of them have an almost tactile effect when spoken.
My AE was named Mortifero (glum, always a downer) and was the opposite of my CB self. My CB self used to be a lot more cheerful than my real life self, but now I think we're about the same. :P Currently, though, I have no active AEs. But I do have a CAPTCHA, named Chip! He's an agouti longhair mouse.

I like math thats just straight up do this to this number. So, like:
4,597+6,104=____

That's the kind of math you can do in your head!
Polynomials are expressions like this...
X^2 + 2x + x -- also read as -- X squared plus 2X plus X
And you can factor them, for instance, that becomes this:
(x+1)(X+1) -- Which if you multiply that together, you get x^2 + x + 1, which you started with.
And you can graph them, and they become parabolas. You can also solve them if they're part of an equation!
X^2+2X+X = 0
First you factor...
(X+1)(X+1) = 0
You can see that these two expressions multiplied makes zero. Since anything multiplied by zero makes zero, you know that the only way to make this equation into a zero is to have one of those expressions equal zero.
What plus 1 makes zero? Negative one! Plug -1 into your expression to get (-1+1)(-1+1), which is 0 times 0, which is 0. And that's how you solve polynomials...
They can get really complicated, but I find them fun, like puzzles.

A polynomial is an expression with more than two algebraic terms. Polynomials get really complicated with all sorts of different forms and ways to simplify them and they are really time consuming especially ones with leading coefficients - *shudders* They are one of the banes of my existence and I accept Micearenice's decision to like them but I will never understand the reasoning behind it. I took Algebra 1 last year and they were something we covered. Here's and example of a basic one: x^2-4x+7 Just as a side note if I put a number before the first term (in this case x^2) that would be a leading coefficient. The 3 in say 3x^2.
