Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket
Your CB Story
Your CB Story
I was looking in the Letters section of my magazine and I was like, "Oh, Chatterbox! That sounds cool!" So I searched it and I kept on starting to make stories and then not posting. The first thing I posted was on the Inkwell and I kept on getting the CAPTCHA wrong.
What's your CB story? How did you first come on Cricket?
It may be harder for some to remember but it's easy for me 'cause I like, just joined. :p

Ahh, I was looking at my new May 2018 Cricket mag and I was like man, the Chatterbox sounds cool so I made a comment on the Harry Potter Trivia thread (after getting permission first, of course.) And the rest is history. but wouldn't that bit also be history? Hmm...

I actually started on Kyngdom, after finding the Kyngdom pages in my mags and seeing how awesome they were. Unfortunately, now there's literally *counts* about four actually active (not intermittent) Kyngdomfellows. *Grows cold an closes up*

Aaaah, I remember it like it was yesterday... About 2 years ago a friend of mine some may have known as Kaleidoscope Griffin told me how amazing Chatterbox is. And so I checked it out and ... Tadaaaah!!!! Here I am loll

I was originally on Kyngdom, as Lupe W. (who I never RPed as bc I didn't know how anything worked), then abandoned it. Later, I came back as Moonwolf, and posted what was supposed to be a comment on a thread that I had found something from in the Letterbox, but I didn't know how threads worked so I made a separate post. Later, I came back as Moon Wolf, and posted as both that and Agent Winter for a while, then dropped the name Moon Wolf after the Apocolypse RP crisis and now I'm just Agent Winter.

Like many others, I found the CB through the letterbox. I saw a snippet of a story someone wrote and was really curious to find out about the ending and... I made the most awesome discovery of my life!

I decided to join the CB after reading about it in the Letterbox. I made my first post in the Poetry Contest. I actually didn't get permission at first, and my parents got semi-mad at me. But maybe I was just making them out to be madder than they really were.
Rogue, I just joined Kyngdom as A Cloud of Kittens. But the thread I was posting on kinda died, and I wasn't sure where else to go. Advice?

Hm... I think, if I remember correctly, that I first joined because I wanted someplace to post my writing. That was like 2 years ago, so when I first started really getting into writing. I had been reading a lot of fanfics on Wattpad and wanted to try creating an account and posting some of my own stories on there. But my parents weren't okay with that, haha. They didn't want people from all over the place to be able to talk to me and critique my stories and just... yeah. Anyway. Before this, I had seen things in the Letterbox where there were "Chirps from Cricket Chatterbox" or something like that, but I had never really understood what it was. Then one day I was looking through a mag and I saw the URL for the CB. So I asked my parents if I could check it out, they said I could, and I did. Turns out, the CB is chock full of writing! And my parents were cool with me being on here because they knew there were Administrators who reviewed every comment before allowing it to be posted, and they wouldn't let just any random creep join. So, yeah. XD That's my CB story. But I have to say, Aquamarine, that you were not alone in the struggle for figuring out the CAPTCHAs. I swear I, probably attempted to submit like 10 comments my first time before finally getting the CAPTCHA right.
Though, fun fact about me: I have never participated in an RP before. Not once. Sure, I joined one. When I first joined the CB. But it died like right after I first posted, and since then I haven't joined any.

Truth be told I''ve looked in on the CB now and then for years. I remember one time I was browsing right around the first impersonator war. Bluebird had just been impersonated, if I remember correctly. Somebody called it out pretty fast, and I remember being impressed at them indentifying the signs so quickly.

I actually have had Cricket since I was... 10-11 I think, and I always read through the Letterbox wondering what on earth “Chirps from Cricket’s Chatterbox and Letterbox” was supposed to mean. Probably the reason I never investigated was the fact that my browsers were all password-protected for a while, so I couldn’t go to a new website without a parent typing a password. However, when we got new laptops, my parental controls were lifted, and I finally did check out the website at the bottom of the page. I read all the rules and FAQs and peeked around to see how stuff worked, and eventually started commenting on a few threads that interested me. I showed it to my parents, who were cool with it and even impressed when I told them that full names and face-pictures weren’t allowed or published. I eventually made my first post, titled “Random Lines”, and the first person (I believe) to comment was GW. I originally posted as Jwyn, age 12, aMbER’s Hideout, aMbER being a character created by me and my friend. Somewhere in there I changed it to what it is now, but it still changes depending on my mood, this being default. And that is my story *bows*.

I joined almost three years ago after reading the first issue of Cricket that introduced Kyngdom. It sounded really cool, and my parents surprisingly let me try it out. I probably made three posts on Kyngdom before checking out the rest of the CB, and after that I didn’t really go back to Kyngdom. I joined lots of rps and posted all over the place - I used to go by my real name. Looking back at what I wrote back then, I sound so annoying to myself. I posted consistently for maybe a year and a half, I don’t really know, but since high school I’ve gotten pretty busy and I only check back in once in a while.

I was super intrigued by the Kyngdom page when I first got Cricket, so I first joined Kyngdom. I started out as Icy, The Forest, 11, and joined around my birthday, in August (I don't know when my actual CBversary is, so I tend to celebrate it on my birthday if I do celebrate it).
I hung out on Kyngdom for a while, posting as my lovely cliche character Icicle Soul (her name/"last name" was actually given to her to represent something, but I've already gone in depth about that on Kyngdom). When I first joined I was absolutely enchanted by the site, though confused, and I immediately wanted to be seen as popular. Of course, I was really demanding and rude back then, and...yeah Imma talk about something else.
'The Forest' is another thing I got from Kyngdom, as my character made her home in the forest--crud, this is becoming a Kyngdom advertisement. And remember, kids, buy a Kyngdom today! Available for purchase at only $19.99! WOW! With deals like this, you..uh...ah....
❄ahem❄ though I may have had a weird start on the Chatterbox, I genuinely do love it here. I've been taught a heck a lot of lessons by this place and I'm here to stay. And that's my CB story!

I was looking through the Letterbox and saw a post made by...was it ElementGirl? I can't remember. Anyway, it was about the CB, so on June 8, 2018, I made my first post on This Month as Caramel Star. After about a week, I dropped the name and went for Secret. And I've been like that ever since.

There was a roleplay excerpt section, in one of the magazines, and I didn't have a lot to do (long story, lol), so I asked my mom if I could see what the site was about. It changed my life, and this is not an exaggeration.

I was reading the letterbox in the January Cricket when I saw this website name near the bottom corner and I decided to check it out! And here I am!
