I have an entrance exam coming up on Thursday to a high school I REALLY want to get into and I am SUPER nervous.  Anyone have any tips and tricks how NOT to die of stress?? Hehe....

Deep breathing, calm music, essential oils, and chocolate! Works for me every time. ;) I'm sure you'll do fine.

What Rogue said definitely /\

Also, if you’re stressed about things you can’t do, think about what you can do. If that makes any sense.

Figure out how the scoring for the exam works. If you don't get points for wrong answers, you can guess on questions you don't know. If you lose point for wrong answers you don't want to guess. This is more a tip for the exam and less a tip for not dying of stress.

When you start to feel stressed, just remind yourself that you're smart and you're going to be fine. Getting yourself worked up by thinking about how scary this test is won't be very helpful to you. You need to relax, take a deep breath. You're going to do your best, so focus on that. You're smart, you're prepared, and you're going to be ok. Think positively and don't let yourself dwell on the test itself because you can't control that. Focus on what you can control- yourself. The night before the test, pack everything you're going to bring. Pencils, calculator (and extra batteries, if needed), eraser, water bottle, healthy snacks. Be sure to get enough sleep that night (and the night before that, if you can). Maybe even lay out the clothing you're going to wear. Definately wear comfy stuff, cause you're going to be there a while and nobody's going to be judging you. Also, bring layers, because testing rooms are usually too hot or too cold.

The morning of the test, eat a good breakfast! Something healthy and filling will keep you going and help you work your brain longer. If you feel yourself getting worked up, take some deep breaths and calm yourself down. You are going to rock this! Sometimes I even look in the mirror and go, "Yup, it's going to happen and that's ok. I'm gonna do this, and I'm gonna do this well." You are brilliant and we believe in you!

Afterwards, you'll probably feel drained and that is completely normal. Do whatever makes you happy- hang out with friends or just take a nap. Maybe go get ice cream. After one big test I just flopped down in the garden and lay in the sun for like an hour- do whatever relaxes you. You deserve a break.

Study until you know the material thats on the test. Relax. Take your mind off of it.

Oh my gosh, thanks so much, all of you!! I haven't been able to be on Cricket for the past week because this test is on Thursday, and I've had to study like mad. Today I woke up completely frazzled and just losing my nerve, but when I checked Cricket, I completely relaxed. Especially with the thought of tea and chocolate later.
