HELLO! Goodness it has been a while!
I can't say that I'm back, but I'm here to visit at least! How is everyone? How are you, Admins? I've missed you guys :)
What have you all been up to as of late? I have been extremely busy these last few months. I've spent the majority of my time drawing, writing, reading and doing odds and ends. Somehow I've managed to keep busy...which is why I kind of vanished from the CB. Sorry about that.
I wrote a script for a play which is actually being performed in my homeschool group, which is crazy cool. I also wrote another novel last summer, which was pretty sweet. And yet again I'm writing. I'm doing NaNoWriMo, and shooting for 50k. Is anyone else writing this month? I would love to hear about your WIPs!
As far as art goes, I drew a commission for a lovely person I know, completed Inktober and completed one and a half sketchbooks since last I was on here. Did anyone else do Inktober? I'm sure lots of you did, you wonderfully creative people!
Reading...well let us just say the time I haven't spent drawing and writing I've spent reading. I'm actually looking for some YA contemporary novels. Does anyone have suggestions?
And lastly for the miscellaneous things that I've been up to that, may or may not, be important enough to find a place on this short summary of my life. I've taken up ukulele, which is totally awesome (I'm not very good though)! I've tried pottery, which is AMAZING and I started doing contra dance. Are there any other contra-ers on the CB? I also turned sixteen, which seems kind of old...?
Anyway, enough about me! What about YOU folks? What have you been up to? What have I missed? What is the gossip around the CB these days?
I'm doing well, thank you. I believe there is an Inktober thread somewhere on Chatterbox. Today was the first online Cricket Trivia contest. Did any of you participate? We are fast approaching February 14, 2019, the date when former CBers are supposed to come back for a visit.

HI Silver! I'm not that active anymore either, but I just wanted to say hi. I am doing great. I have discovered SO MUCH NEW MUSIC. If you need recommendations LET ME KNOW. Also for books I second hotairballoons Ms. Peregrine recommendation. SO MUCH better than the movie.

I would LOVE music recommendations! Seriously, you can never find enough new music. And I will definitely keep in mind not to watch the movie. Don't you hate it when there is a really amazing book and then someone decides to make a movie and it just doesn't do the book justice?!

I love Stargirl!! It is such an awesome story told in a very unique way! Have you read Love Stargirl? I never have, but it is on my to read list. They Both Die In the End, huh? Talk about a book title that reveals the end! I love the author's last name. I have heard of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, but I haven't read it. I will definitely look into it (most anything by a fellow Stargirl lover will be good!) Something about the way you said 'Divided We Fall is to die for' really cracked me up.

That does seem like a lot of stuff to do! I sorta did Inktober, I did around every other day. And I'm not doing nano this year, but good luck! My writing mosty consists of really short stories these days.
I dont really have any good book suggestions, I could use some right now, actually.

Yes somehow I do manage to find ways to keep busy...haha! This was the first year that I ever completed Inktober. It was quite fun, but I was very sick of ink by the time October was over. Thank you! I finally hit the 45k word mark! That's awesome that you are writing short stories! I really admire people who write short stories...somehow I can never manage to have a compelling plot and still keep the story over 10k. I honestly have no clue how people do it.

Yesss 16 power forever (or at least until we turn 17, haha!)!!! Hahaha, I'm completely there with you on the not-so-musically-talented-front. I love music, but somehow I can't make instruments sound as amazing as they should. I guess I just need to practice...maybe...
Contra dancing is a folk dance...a bit like square dancing. Each dancer has a partner and in a couple one dancer will play the 'gents' roll and one will play the 'ladies' roll. The rolls aren't really that different, except that you make specific 'moves' at different times. There is a caller who calls out the 'moves' to the 'gents' and the 'ladies' and there will be a whole line of people who are doing these 'moves.' Each couple is in a group of four, so they are dancing with another couple pretty much all the time. You go up and down the lines performing the 'moves' that the caller tells you to. All this is done to music. Haha, it sounds more complicated then it really is (plus that was a bad description), but overall it is super fun!

The first online Cricket trivia contest was held a few weeks ago. I think it's supposed to be held once a month. I can't find any details now, but I think advance notice is emailed to those who register for the online Cricket newsletter, which you can do at cricketmedia.com When I hear there's going to be another one, I'll try to have the time posted in advance on Chatterbox.
