ME TOO! But there's a lot of cats outside our house because my neighbors let them run around, so sometimes it feels like I have a cat...! And we take care of my aunts dog whenever they go on vacation!

Ooh, lucky! Dogs are so much fun! They are a lot of work, I'm guessing, but the companionship they give you is priceless! If I could just have one of my own...

I reallllyyyy love animals, so I would like to join please. I have two 10-year-old dogs that I love, a hamster named Hamme, and two hermit crabs. Does anyone else have hermit crabs? :D Thx,

Pardon me, but have we figured out what the animal club is about - i.e. what exactly we do? Just curious.

I wish she would.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I was taking theater classes that i had to get up at 8:00 when I am used to getting up at noon.
Anyway, I thought we could talk about animals, read animal books, and go on animal websites. Has anyone read the Warrior Cat Series?
(July 28, 2009 - 11:22 am)
Welcome back, Mathilda! :D

Yay! And yes, I've read some of the Warriors books. I think I just might make a list of recomended books for animal lovers...
Fiction:
National Velvet, by Enid Bagnold
Watership Down, by Richard Adams,
Shardik, also by Richard Adams (which I haven't read yet, so I don't know if 'tis any good),
The Julie of the Wolves Trilogy, by Jean Craighead George
anything by Marguerite Henry (a really good horse author)
Hoot, by Carl Hiaasen
The Immortals Quartet, by Tamora Pierce (I haven't read the whole thing, but 'tis good so far)
Warriors series, by Erin Hunter (I haven't read it all, but 'tis good so far)
Seekers series, by Erin Hunter (I haven't read it, but 'tis supposed to be good)
The Promise, by Jackie French Koller
A Dog's Life, by Ann M. Martin
How to Live With a Unicorn, by Jane Mosely (if fantasy animals count)
Chronicles of Ancient Darkness Series, by Michelle Paver
Nonfiction:
Animal, by the Smithsonian Institution
Wildlife, by Martin Walters
More that I can't think of right now

I like A Dog's Life. It's really good, but
sad... :(

And Lad: A Dog is really good too.

Oh, and The Goose Girl. It's a fiction book by Shannon Hale.
