I've never read The Golden Compass, and all the others on your list are tied (with many other books for my favourite.

I think Philip Pullman is an excellent author, and he most certainly does not need help. His idea of heaven is very interesting to me.

Hmm... Sorry JFB, I must disagree completely. I don't think I will ever read The Golden Compass. I've heard it's very against Christianity. :( *makes face of complete and utter disgust*

Isn't the main story line about a mission to like destroy God or something?? Or am I thinking of something else...? *also makes a face of complete and utter disgust*
I read The Golden Compass a few years ago. Please remember that it is fantasy. It doesn't claim or even pretend to be real.

Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings tie in first. Then there's The Golden Compass. Then Narnia and Eragon tie. I think I like Narnia better, though. :D

I have many others, (such as Twilight, Nicholas Flamel, and just fantasy in general), but I put these down because these are my favorite books. Philip Pullman does not need help, but I can see why some people wouldn't like it.
