Hi, everybuggy!  I'm

Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Hi, everybuggy!  I'm

Hi, everybuggy!  I'm Sam ( and no I'm not a boy).  I live in Saline, MI, which is a really small town next to Ann Arbor, MI.  I am in 7th grade and love to read Cricket.  It's my all-time favorite magazine ever!  I play the clarinet and the guitar.  I love to debate about really interesting things like the whole global warming thing. Personally I think it is a natural occurance.  I run cross-country and I love it! I think more people need to start running.  Cross-country is a great sport.

Please, Cricket, have more stories about magic and other dimensions and time travel.  They're my favorite subjects to read about.  Keep up the good work, Cricket  magazine!

Hi, Sam!:):):) I'm in 8th grade and I'm a homeschooler. I LOVE Cricket magazine, too.:):):) I also play the guitar, along with the flute and the piano.:):):) I love music, Classical and Country the most!:):):) I'm in a country band with my brother and sister, and I write all of the songs. I really like writing stories, poems, songs, etc.:):):) I like stories about time travel too. I wrote about a book in the Blab about Books section, that all about traveling back in time. It's called The Time Travelers, and it's REALLY good!:):):) Welcome to Cricket Chatterbox!!:):):)

This is so much fun welcoming people!!!  Everybuggy should do what Sam and the newer Emily L did, so we can get to know them better.  Anyway, hi, Sam!!!  Welcome to the most fun (yet slightly addictive!!!) site there is.  I play the piano and the recorder and want to learn the flute, but my brother plays the guitar.  He's really good and he records himself and, giggle giggle, sings!!!!! :):):):):):):):):):):):)  Okay, sorry, it's just a weird thought that my brother actually sings!!!  A year ago, he wouldn't be caught dead humming!!  Sorry, I don't do cross-country.  My town doesn't have a very good cross-country group for people our age. (Trust me, my friends tried it.  It did NOT go well...)  About stuff like global warming, I agree, it is a natural occurrence.  You'll like the thread about global warming in the Down to Earth Section.  I can't remember its name.  Could be "Global Warming", maybe...  The thread doesn't have much action anymore, but it might be interesting to see other people's views.  Want to hear something funny???  Scientists are beginning to warn people that we are going to be entering another ice age in a few years!!!  My dad lived through an "ice age" when he was our age.  It is a cycle, for Pete's sake!!  I wonder who "Pete" is...

I have more evidence that global warming is a hoax.  Wait just a minute... *runs off to find article*  Here it is: The claims were frantic.  The polar ice caps are disappearing due to global warming.  The North Pole may soon be ice-free.  Without ice to live on, polar bears are disappearing.  The U.S. Congress even passed a law this year to protect "endangered" polar bears.  Reality, however, isn't so frightening.  Sixty years ago, there were about 5,000 polar bears.  Now there are 25,000.  And NASA satellite photos show polar ice growing.  The 2008 Antarctic ice cap is bigger than ever before recorded.  The Arctic ice cap from August 2007 to August 2008 grew at least 10 percent and perhaps as much as 20 percent.

Oh wow!  I used up a lot of space.  Anyway, welcome to the Chatterbox!!!

OOOOOH!!!  You have your own secret language??????? :):):):):):):):):)  I don't, but when I was younger, I learned Ubbi-Dubbi from the TV show Zoom on PBS.  You add "ub" before every vowel sound.  It's really fun.  These kids at my camp would talk in it to each other, thinking that no one else would know it, but little did they know that I did....  :):):):)  I always giggle when I laugh in Ubbi-Dubbi, because it would be " Huba huba huba!!!"!!!  Hubi Ubemubiluby!  Ubi cuban nubot thubink ubof ubanubythubing tubo subay!!!! :):):):):):):):):):):):)
