Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Dear friends,

Let me make one thing clear. If you have left before because of having part of a comment edited or deleted--then you are not alone.  

Oddly, I find that I don't care. If that happens, I will leave. And if/when it does happen, it will only have proven my point, if only to myself. 

I would also like to clarify that I didn't use any foul language.

I love all of you. No, not romantically. In my way of thinking, you are all my friends, or have the potential to be my friends, if only on the CB. You're brilliant and dedicated writers. You're talented artisans, excellent musicians. Some of you are well-travelled. You write adventures and you have adventures. Most of you are braver than I could ever be. You're wonderful people, and if you aren't, you all have the potential to be. 

Never let anyone hush your stories. Never let anyone poo-poo your accomplishments. Write your stories. Express your truth. Allow no one to discriminate against you without protest. Your stories, your lives, you matter. It doesn't matter who you are, where you live, what you look like, where you're from, or who you love. All that matters is that you be true to yourself and kind to others. ('This above all else, to thine on self be true, for then follows, as night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man'--Hamlet, Shakespeare.) 

I have enjoyed your writing beyond measure. You are all truly are a spark of brightness in this dark world. Some have intriguing wit, others have beautiful, soaring prose that is a joy to read, still yet others have fast-paced, well-woven plot. All are valuable. You are all important. 

I will miss the CB. Though I have never met any of you in person, I feel as though reading a person's work or seeing their art sometimes draws you closer to that person. Writers allow people glimpses into their souls through their writing. 

I will miss all of you. Go with God (in whichever form you prefer),

P.S. To the Admins: I choose to believe that you have good intentions. I choose to believe the best of you. I also choose to believe that you have to make difficult decisions every day in the course of your job, and that my post was the unfortunate victim of one of those decisions. That doesn't make it okay, or make it right, but it does help me to understand, even if I don't agree. 

I wish you the best. Please, even if this post only makes it to the CB mutilated and shorn to pieces, or not at all, listen to what I have said. Silence is wonderful when used to listen or to hear, it is only harmful when we deny the cry of the wounded and we ignore and stopper our ears.  

Ninad, your comment was not edited for the reason you speculate. The whole "crush" thread has been silenced.
