Chatterbox: Chirp at Cricket

Guess what day it is! I'm a little late, just like last year, but...

Yesterday was my CBversary! I've been a CBer for two whole years (and a day) now!

Cricket has been amazing. Over the past two years I've learned so much about writing and a whole lot more. My first post was on Coconut the Dog's Warriors RP--back then, my style was blocky and horrible:

"As my weary paws crunch on the leaves, I fear I may collapse. I've been running from dogs all day. Thankfully I outran them. Suddenly I stop. A chill runs down my spine and enters through my tail."

Now, after two years of practice, my writing is worlds better:

"A restless moan. The footsteps drew nearer, and through the cold came a caress, gentle and loving. Ragged breaths faded to softness--but somewhere in the depths of the Alter Ego's mind swam a face, the face that had tipped the balance, the face that brought the turmoil back."

And it's all thanks to the Chatterbox! Without this website, I never would've realized how incredible being an author was. I'd probably still be pursuing herpetology or something...not that that's a bad thing, it's just that I never would've unlocked this part of me. Now I really hope to become a successful author someday. Thanks to CB, I actually have a chance. :)

I wrote my first novel here, started my second, and was inspired to begin my third, which I plan (er, hope) to publish soon. Special thanks to every single one of you for that!

For my CBversary resolution, I plan to recontinue my 'It's night...' ski lodge, and...hmm, that's actually it. I'm trying to keep my to-do list relatively short due to school. :P I'll try to be more active everywhere else, but I can't promise anything. Just a warning, I'll be out of town from Thursday-Monday.

So yeah, that's it. The Chatterbox has taught me a lot; thanks! It's been a great two years.
